February 5, 200818 yr Many of you may or may not know but my wife was in the hospital for almost a month now but she just got out today which is nice. But the story isnt there. Since was sick i decided to drive her minivan to drive the 3 kids around because hey thats what i bought it for right. Superbowl sunday i go to the local wallymart to pickup a few things while i have some free time away from the kids. It had snowed alittle but didnt look slick. So i turn on a curve going bout 10 and just kept going strait. Ramed into the curb with the wheel fully turned to the right thought i dont know if keeping it straight would of made much difference. Smacked the curb bent the rim, popped the tire and sent it up into the fender destroying the fender. Snapped the crossmember in half riped the power steering and break lines off the hub and snapped the cvshaft from what i can see. I had to wait an hour before i was towed while almost being hit several times because my car was hanging out in the road. Now i told you that story to tell you this one. It was and is time for guido to step into the sunlight. When my wife got out of the hospital i was like your learning to drive a stick cuz this is all we got. She tried and did a fairly good job but in the process of her learning the clutch gas thing she killed it several times now it is really hard to put it into any gear. I still can do it but its different then what it was before. Also something for everyone to think about. This is our only vehicle now and its not to terribly safe to drive but i realized that i could fit all 3 carseats in the back. Its tight but were a cozy famliy lol. Ben
February 5, 200818 yr Wow, sorry to hear about this. Hopefully things get better and you get your van back up to par.
February 5, 200818 yr Does it have a different feel if the engine is not running? Easier? If so you may need to tighten the clutch cable, or it might be stretching. Check for both and you might want to pick up an extra (dealer only) for about $20 just to have it on hand. Easy to replace. They can and do sometimes snap. Just remember it goes UNDER both the steering column and the heater core hoses. GD

April 1, 200818 yr If you like.... you could start a GD fan club if you want. I can't stop you in any case as I'm not a mod around here Glad your problem got solved and I was able to help. I hope things are well with your family. Sounds like life has been hard, and you don't seem like you deserve it, although I don't know you beyond the board or what karma may be following you - hopefully good things. GD
