ea81 vented rotors, interchangability

Featured Replies

so i was wondering if there is a difference in 2wd and 4wheel drive for the front brake rotors? i need to find a vented rotor, the only car i remember seeing at the taco PAP is a ea81 sedan, can't remember whether it was a 4wd or 2wd. so before i waste the gas i was wondering on the interchangablility... and which cars had the non vented rotors? i know generally ea81's are all interchangable, but i really would like to know the differences between the 2wd or 4wd and what years the non vented rotors came on. i have the vented rotors presently.

thanks

I dont think there is a difference between 2WD and 4WD. But if you are planning on going from solid rotors to vented, then You will need to get the caliper and mounting bracket as well.

i already have vented. just trying to find out when they went from solid to vented. only 1 ea81 in the the local junkyard... ea81 sedan.

don't know if this will help but my 86 brat is vented. the only other thing I can think of was a 83 wagon 2wd was solid.

It's a year thing - they chaged from solid to vented on all EA81's halfway into the 83 model year. So '83's are a crapshoot, everything older is solid, and everything newer is vented. 2WD and 4WD use the same size.
