Stock Radiator Dimensions Needed

Featured Replies

Does anybody know what the stock radiator dimensions are for my 87 RX Turbo?

Looking at some options for when the EJ20T goes in eventually

i know for sure the hoses on an ej are larger than an ea82 t hoses.

another thing i for sure know is the xt6 radiator hoses are larger tha ea82's as well.

what you would find out is if the hose nipples are the same size between the two. of so, then there is a direct fit. but xt6's may be hard to come by.

Here's the tell of the tape on the radiators I have here......

XT6 Dual Core;

Total side to side width is 29-3/4"

Total top to bottom height is 15-1/4" including locating pins

Locating pin center to center is 20-3/16", length is 3/4"

Both hose fittings measure 1-1/2" and slant upwards slightly

Thickness is roughly 1-9/16" at core and 2" at seams.

EA-82 Single and Dual core;

Total width is 29-3/4"

Total height is 15-3/4" including pins

Locating pins center to center is 21-1/4", length is 7/8"

Both hose fittings are 1-1/8"

Upper hose fitting is straight out, lower is angled up almost 90* and out to the side of tank.

Total thickness is same as the XT6 radiator for both the Dual and Single core.

i have put 2 EJ20G's into EA cars. and on both i used the EJ20G radiator.

it takes a little triming and you have to run the fans on the front not the back of the radiator, but with the stock radiator for the engine, you know it will cool like it should...

Cool,Thanks Guys.Thats pretty much what i need :headbang:

On both my EJ swaps I run stock EA82 rads (dual core variety).

Both are all metal, and have had the outlets refitted to the larger EJ size.

The turbo EJ runs 2 10" fans on the front side. The NA EJ runs one 10" on the front side.
