Um... REALLY stupid question about the back seat

Featured Replies

Okay, stupid question ...

Um ... I have a '90 Loyale wagon. I have been using the fold-down seats for 2 years now ... and now it's stuck. I would SWEAR there's no catch on there - but it sure as Hell feels like one! I think I'm going crazy - I've been using the fold-down seat like 3-4 times a week ...

Anyone have a pic of the seat folded forward & let me see what migth be catching on this thing?

Yeah yeah - I know .. laugh away.

do you mean on the base? On my dad's 85 wagon it has a little strap in the middle you pull on and it releases the latch

When the seats are in the up (you can sit in them) position (at least on GL's) there is something similar to a door latch mechanism. Pull up on the pin and it releases the jaw that grab around a metal loop.

When the seat is folded down (and the seat bottom folded up and forward) the little plastic loops on the top of the seat SHOULD sit on pins on the backs of the seat bottom hinges. If you have the seats all the way back there will be some resistance to get the seat up and down from this position as the seat cushion has to compress a bit to allow the plastic ring on the seatback to come free of the pins. There is no latch though in the down (big flat open back) position.

Hope that helps? :-\

Hmm ...

I can't get at the strap ... but I'll give that a try

MAN, do i feel stupid!

It's ok, happens to the best of us

If you cant find the strap then you will have to dig around for the latch mechanism and pull it with your finger.
