1989 RX with 4eat

Featured Replies

Is that normal to have a full time awd automatic in a 1989 RX?

People have told me that it wasn't.

There was one in the local U Pull not too long ago; FT4WD AT with an LSD.

I've seen a lot of black RX's with that combination in them. Not really rare but kind of uncommon.

Mine's white!!! Hahah. I want to convert it to 5speed, no doubt.

But I might just wait and do a full ej swap.

Done it before on a 4EAT but the wiring for it is a PITA. I just hacked off the harness and pulled it out along with the TCU. Then I wired in a pushbutton!

yes, the 4eat with lsd is an rx factory package, for those with no left foot!

i have almost put myself thru the windshield transitioning to an automatic. that or shifting into R or P while moving!

and then after being used to column shifts, i grab air or the turn lever when transitioning back to stick.
