April 1, 200817 yr I have a 1990 loyale with a EJ25 turbo motor in it. I am running the EA82 dual range tranny. I was wondering if there are any EA after market clutches out there that can with stand 300+ horsepower
April 2, 200817 yr stage 3 clutch for a GL. that's what albie from AA is running behind his monster wrx powered touring wagon. he says he can't get it to slip. but starting off slow it a pain he says he sometimes puts it in 4 lo just to get rolling then puts it back in 2 hi to drive. but he has also gone through 3 trannys and like 4 or 5 rear ends, so don't expect them to live very long.
April 2, 200817 yr http://www.specclutch.com/ a stock replacement XT6 one will fit fine, and works great for ~150hp. but not 300.
April 2, 200817 yr Author is that A.A.'s wagon you have? no its my own creation everything is built by me
April 2, 200817 yr Your best bet with that setup is probably going to be an XT6 clutch made extra-heavy-duty, if possible. With a kevlar facing on the clutch. Really, you're best off with a Legacy or WRX transmission. More durable and more clutch options. post pics of the car to prove this isn't an April Fool's day joke.
April 2, 200817 yr Brake and clutch of asheville, NC. Give them a call and see what he can do for you, their number should be 828-252-6470
April 2, 200817 yr Author thanks for all the great feed back! just one more question, does the xt6 use a different flywheel then the GL? Because i have all ready redrilled the old GL flywheel to the EJ crank and didn't want to have to do it again
April 3, 200817 yr thanks for all the great feed back! just one more question, does the xt6 use a different flywheel then the GL? Because i have all ready redrilled the old GL flywheel to the EJ crank and didn't want to have to do it again That will work just fine.
April 3, 200817 yr The XT6 flywheel is different, but only because it's lighter. the clutch kits are 100% interchangeable.
