April 9, 200817 yr I'm looking for a rebuild kit or remanufactured rack for a EA81 w/ Manual steering. Please tell me i'm not looking at spending $250... Anybody have good sources?
April 9, 200817 yr Replace. There are no rebuild kist for the backyard mechanic. To many possible things that can go way too wrong if not done correctly, too many special tools needed, and that odd attraction the car develops to trees. Find a rebuilt or a used one. nipper
April 10, 200817 yr Author Will a '80 or '81 rack work? How about a rack from an EA82? I'm just trying to figure out my options.
April 12, 200817 yr i think i remember seeing in a post that somebody had an ea82 power steering rack in their ea81 car. can that be done? if so, can you also use an ea82 p/s pump?

S'ko did it in his Brat. Added Power steering too. Althoughg I think he used the whole EA82 crossmemeber, so that may not be a bolt on option.
