What are these?

Featured Replies

I can't figure out what these are? I tried to look'em up in chilton, but it's kinda hard since I dunno what there called..

These round things are connected to two fuel lines and and the 3rd one is attatched to the Throttle body..

Now for this one, The thing with the black plastic cap/cover.. It's attatched to a aluminum peice.

Anyone have a idea ? :)

Thanks!

Well the first picture, if your talking about the metal units that are on your fuel lines, are fuel pressure dampers. The second one...I've always wondered about that thing on my wagons too :) Sorry

Oh those are fuel dampers! Sorry for typing Vac lines. I had Vac lines on my mind all day "Dunno why" Lol :)

Alright thanks! :headbang:

No problem! That second piece, I just ran out and looked at my wagon, and the cap part is busted off of mine. It still functions correctly....whatever it's function is,lol. I'm sure someone will chime in on that piece.

The two on the lines are dampers - the one "on the throttle body" is the fuel pressure regulator.

The other item is either the purge solenoid or the evap solenoid. The black plastic cap is a vent dust cap that prevents dust and debris from being sucked into the valve when it changes from open to closed (it vent's the vacuum to atmosphere through the filter cap).

So thats where the pressure reg is, I read about it in Chilton but they didn't provid a picture..

And the other one is a Purge solenoid/evap solenoid. I assume its for the fuel too.?

I was just curious about them, and I figure what better place to ask :) Thnaks guys!

No - it handles evaporated fuel vapor from the tank and lines.

I meant purge solenoid, or EGR solenoid - I was really tired when I posted that. Purge and Evap are different terms for the same solenoid.

according to your first picture, the pressure regulator is the part where the top hose is connecting on the throttle body. there should be a vac line on th ebottom of it.

if i remember correctly, the regulator is on the return side of the fuel circuit

Oh I see now, alright. and it's no biggie about being tired, We all get that. :)

Miles, Yeah that's right. I just looked at the pressure regulator and it's got a vac line coming off the back of it and go's into the throttle body. you can see the vac line in the picture, if you looks between the Blue plug wires and the regulator.

And BTW, The solenoid, Theres two of them. The one in the picture has a vac line on the top and that runs to a set of metel lines that go to the tranny and it also has a black conector that plus into a harnes and runs all over. Then theres a 2nd one which is a little below the 1st one and has a vac line on top and that runs to the EGR..
