..MPG on an impreza?..

Featured Replies

I am looking to get a Impreza mid 90's with a 2.2 in it and a manual 5speed awd. What can I expect for gas mileage around town and on the hwy? Thanks for the info to come.

my 98 2.2 AWD L sedan got 31 highway going from portland to reno and back. often reaching 90 MPH too

Didnt have it long enough to get around town MPG

around mid 20s/high 20s if everything is running properly. it's AWD so it won't "coast" with the same efficiency of the lighter FWDs. I love my 98 obs in the winter but during the summer I'm keeping it between 2k-2500 rpm and averaging 33-35 on the hwy. lots of weight reduction also involved. good luck

My brother gets about 26-29 MPG in his '99 Outback Sport 5-spd. My dad gets 24-26 in his '97 sedan with an automatic.

If it's running well it should get over 30 on the highway.

I can get low 30's with my wrx if I stay out of boost on a long trip. Around town it's not so good.

I see the same in my 04 WRX, that is staying out of the boost, which is so very hard! :headbang:

My friend had a '96 Legacy L that was good for 35 hwy MPGs.

I think with a nice new air filter, maybe even a K & N air filter, and you could easily get 35 MPG on the highway.
