My wagon runs a little hot Ihave changed the thermostat and the coolant but nothing changed it will cool down to normal when I cut on the heater what should I do

remove the radiator and backflush it. Also clean all the crap out of between the radiator fins.

Chances are it got gummed up with all the off-roading.

The radiator could be partially clogged so you may need to replace it. You could also have a block check done to see if exhaust gases are getting into the coolant. This will cause a increase in water temperature also.

my '85 was having the same problem on a trip out with TheSubaruJunkie one day... it was a long hot drive home...

replaced the radiator and the problem was gone...

If you go so far as to R&R the radiator, you might as well replace the water pump too. Cheap insurance and alot easier to do with the rad out of the way. Later, Tim
