Different problems i need to pinpoint and update

Recommended Posts

So most important, my wagon has been running hot when i get on it under 50 mph. well i stopped when it was above the halfway mark and my eletrical fan wasnt on, it wouldnt turn on. all the wiring is good... is the sending unit toast or cleanable?

and second i have a 4 inch lift and when i break there is popping like my crossmember is sliding back or my sway bar is creaking has anyone had this happen and fixed it?..

well other then that i have painted my plastics bright blue and some misc parts black its lookin pretty nice inside. im gonna pull my dash and paint that then get parts. i have new 27/75R15 tires for my alloy spokes im gonna get new shift linkage bushings and flush my tranny. retint all the windows and upgrade the stereo to two rockford P3's subs in a single port box with stage 3 rockford 5" 3 way door speakers and a 1200 watt amp.. then when i get back from iraq ill have my built ej waiting to be instaled. i already have most of this im just workin to pay bills so i dont have much time to work on the ru.

ill post pics if u wanna see

Trace the power, and test the fan. Run a jumper to the fan connector and see if it runs, then pull the thermo-sensor and see if it's contacts close when you heat it (heat gun or torch). Best to use a heat gun and a k-type thermocouple to run it's temp up and monitor it to check it's closing temp. Check for power at the fuse and see if the fuse is good.... ect. It's a very basic circuit.

Sure - something is loose. Everyone here with a lift has had that happen. Could be anything related to the lift or other repairs that have been done. Last time I had that problem it was the bolts that connect the leading rod to the passenger front control arm. Accelerating and stopping both resulted in "chunk"/"pop" sounds.

if I remember correctly my ea82 had a relay behind the passenger side strut tower that also worked the fan... there's 2 or 3 there that look the same... that and the thermo switch are where the problem will likely be...

At least you seem to have an eye for detail. Can't say I would have used that color, but it does look like you put some effort into it.

For plastic, I like the Krylon Fusion stuff - I painted the "4WD" red lettering on my Brat mud flaps like 3 years ago and it's still going strong. Amazing stuff. It has a flexing agent in it that gives it a rubberyness so it doesn't crack when applied to plastics. Awesome stuff.

Now rip up that ugly carpet and put down some shag!

I used the fusion paint I chose that color cause its really different and its a subaru color. I actually thought about cleaning my carpet and bedlining it. I think it would be a weird but cool look. Im doing the whole inside black and blue.

They do have a color close to stock I was just lookin at em. My buddy likes what I did ans is painting his red.

Why would u paint it the stock color if that's what it already is???

Mine is bright blue for a reason

My door panel foam is chewed up on the top. I put some new foam on it but it's bright yellow, maybe I should just paint the whole interior bright yellow?
