brokebill Posted July 18, 2008 Share Posted July 18, 2008 did my wagon last year. 20% on rear doors back, 35% on front doors. by far , the hardest was the hatch window. not as flat as it looks. ended up overlapping 3" strips (5 or 6 " strips wrinkled") the doors were a breeze. with no door posts, i just cut the tint a little big, put it on real wet, and after a few minutes of drying a good sharp razor blade trimmed it up real neat. none of it looks perfect, but it came out pretty good and made the car look a lot better overall. also noticed that the warmer it is outside, the more cooperative the tint is. good luck and have fun thanks, Bill Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

jonas Posted July 18, 2008 Author Share Posted July 18, 2008 well, i'm thinking about having it professionally done. i've never done it. not scared to, but there isn't much that looks worse than a bad tint job. i may be able to get a discount at the place my employer uses for all the glass/logo work on the fleet. Just check into whats legal for how dark you can go on the doors..Here its 35% front doors min..I went illegal at 20%..but because I have a light car with a light interior ..it actually appears lighter then it is. fla brat Posted July 20, 2008 Share Posted July 20, 2008 mine is 20% and it cost me $65 out the door for the 2 sides,windshield strip and rear slider from a tint place.even the cop cars down here have limo tint.It is worth letting someone do it that does it all day every day.
