August 21, 200817 yr Howdy all, My wife has a 96 legacy wagon. about a year ago i replaced the left headlight pigtail after it melted. about a month ago the right headlight went dim. It still comes on but is only around half lit.I replaced the bulb and pigtail with no luck. I just swapped the headlight relays with no change but if i remove the left headlight relay the left bulb goes out. If i remove the right relay, the right bulb stays on but is still dim. I am a electrical idiot and could use any help and advice that i can get. A good friend suggested a gallon of gas and a match but gas is sooo high right now. Her yearly inspection is due and if i can't get it fixed she is going to take my Nissan and leave me walking. HELP !!!!! Thanks Steve snksims@yahoo.com

August 21, 200817 yr i would check the grounds and the connectors at the pigtail for corrosion. Also have you tried swapping bulbs to see if it moves. I am assuming we are talking reduced output and not a fogged up lense. nipper
August 21, 200817 yr Author Hi Couger Which one is fuse # 26? Steve Check to see if fuse 26 is ok in the main fuse box under the hood.
August 21, 200817 yr Author Hi Nipper. Both pigtails are new and i swapped bulbs and still is the same.It is the bulb and not the lense. Thanks Steve
August 21, 200817 yr Author Howdy all, i just went thru all of the fuses and found one that was a little dark but not obviousely blown. I replaced it anyway and the light came on at full power. Now what will i do with that gallon of gas???? Thanks for saving my butt. Steve
August 21, 200817 yr Hi Couger Which one is fuse # 26? Steve Check the lid of the panel. It should be marked. Edit: Opps I see I was too late with this. Glad you got it fixed. Put the gallon of gas in the tank. Every drop is precious.
