What is the best way to get some oil circulating so I can prevent a dry start. I am thinking I should not just start cranking it. Any ideas? davebugs Posted November 14, 2008 Share Posted November 14, 2008 I fill the filter, a couple times it keeps sucking it up. Unplug the coil pack (why do 4 wires and possibly have that spark jumping around when you can eliminate the spark?). Crank a few times for a few seconds (helps with fuel pressure as well). Crank until the oil light goes off, or about 1 minute. The starter will take it. Heck, with a broken timing belt and some tape on the clutch switch, you can drive 'em around with the starter!
