Speed Bleeders

Featured Replies

Anyone every use these before?

Seems like a very easy way to bleed your brakes and only cost $28 dollars.

I installed some on my car. It makes possible for one person to bleed the brakes inasmuch as you keep an eye on the master cyl reservoir and top it up as it gets lower.

I used a 2x4 board when i bled the fronts on my Brat. Pedal down, insert board between seat and pedal. close bleed valve when down, remove board. open valve. pedal down, put in board. repeat many times. no cost to do it this way lol.

or get a helper......

why spend money on a kit when you can get a helper for free.

That is a awesome idea! I love free or cheap fixes like this thanks! :headbang:

i have used them on many cars, i love them, it's one of the first "mods" i do to a car. makes it amazingly easy to flush the whole system.

took me less then 10 min to flush and bleed my legacy last time.

I like the idea of the speed bleeder, but as above it's just as easy (and fun) to have a friend help you out. I get them to press the pedal, I open the bleeder, and ask friend to pump slowly ten times, on the tenth press I close the bleeder. Air entering backwards isn't really a problem. I run a foot or two of clear hose from the nipple into a bottle of fluid.

And yet...part of me still thinks the Speed Bleeder is cool....

for me it's when you can't get the old lady to come out to shop at 2 am when it's 40 degrees out that make them worth it.

another option for some people, there's also the power bleeders that allow easy brake bleeding. when i was looking into this, that seemed like the best option for me since it'll work on any subaru (not just one). since i don't even know how many subaru's i own or will ever own and work on others, it's easier to have one piece of equipment that can do them all than buying parts for one vehicle. lots of info about this and more from previous threads too if you want more info.

i too like the board idea, that's funny!

Yea! That gives us one more way of associating bleeding and a 2 X 4 :horse:
