o2 sensor 1985 ea82t

Featured Replies

should i have 2 o2 sensors? i have a os bung befor the turbo and after... does anyone know...because i cant find the second wire either and the sensor that was in there blew the core out...

nope, just one O2 sensor. definitely not two. the second was probably used for another gauge at some point (EGT, etc) or the O2 stripped so they just welded in another rather than repair the original, but that sounds like a real stretch, i doubt it.

i'm confused though. you said it has two bungs...does that mean the other one you've been just driving on open to the atmosphere? that doesn't seem right, wouldn't be really loud and jack with drivability depending where it's located? seems like up until now something has filled that hole to make it drivable, what's up?

I sold him a replacement DP last week. It has a 02 sensor in it.

There are some up-pipes that have bungs in them for 02 sensors, I have one on my RX. But these are pretty rare and might be from a EA81T.

Use the one after the turbo, on the DP.

well i had a loud exhaust leak... while investigating with a mirror i came across a o2 sensor just befor the turbo that appeared to have blown up... all that was left was the end so i took it out and welded a cap on it, screwed it back in and now the car is nice and quite and has a little more power... the previouse downpipe had a o2 sensor in it and the replacement from turbone had one as well making me think that there should be two...
