?D-check and Read connectors, 95 impreza?

Featured Replies

Hey all,

Wondering if anyone can point me to the d-check and read connectors for a 95 Impreza (built 5-94)

Got a reoccuring CEL and I can't find the connectors. Green and black like the legacies? drivers side or passenger?

Thanks

isnt your imprezza and OBDII car?

on my 93 impreza the check connectors are bundled behind the instrument panel. i have to go up from below the dash and they're on the pass side of the steering column up inside there. two greens, two blacks, and one gold (for select monitor) just like legacies.

good question, nipper. aren't 95's liable to be either?

That's an early '95....so likely it's OBDI, but just in case, do you have one of these OBDII connectors under the dash?

Model Year 96 was when Subaru went OBDII. This car is a "95", but was actually built in May of 94.

There is no OBDII connector.

I hate to disagree when I'm not in the same tech league, but according to this site: http://www.obdii.com/connector.html

the '95 Legacy - A/T models only - were OBDII. And I had a '95 Legacy w/an AT, and remember it having the connector...although I don't recall its 'build' date.

This also makes some sense as the '95 2.2 w/AT (and EGR) is the preferred engine of choice to replace the 2.5 in Outbacks/LSi/GTs.

Thanks

Okay, well let's say it was a 93. Which would definately be Pre-OBDII. I assume those have d-check and read connectors under the dash? Can anyone tell me for sure.

Kinda funny, but I've never had to pull codes from an older impy before.

Found this LINK:

Imprenza <sic> models have the ECU and test connectors located behind the right side of the dash, instead of the left.

Hope it helps.
