January 28, 200917 yr Murphy, the 87 Turbo Wag, is blind!!! They both went out yesterday. High beams still work. Does one fuse control low beams, or are the fuses divided by left and right.

IIRC there is a fuse for each side. So maybe by chance both low beam elements went out. I'm also assuming that it has EA82 GL style headlights
January 28, 200917 yr The relays and fuses are for each side, so if the fuse blew, one side would be out. Bet it's just the bulbs.
January 28, 200917 yr Author I figured it was the bulbs. I was loading up the car for band practice, and was set to go, and noticed only my parking lights were on. Funny, I thought, I don't remember turning down to the parking lights (I usually drive with the lights on). It was too dark to diagnose, so I decided to wait till morning.
January 29, 200917 yr VERY funny - my roomate in college had both headlight bulbs blow at the same time on an 87 GL-10. Is yours a white 5-speed 4WD wagon? I had never seen this happen before - both at same time, so we assumed it couldn't be just bulbs, so didn't even check. He took it to a shop and was not happy he had to pay just to have the bulbs replaced.
January 29, 200917 yr I Suggest to Check Carefully if the Dashboard Lights Went Dim too... in That case, it could be a Bad Relay.
