Kragen have them for $5-10.

Note: there are at least a couple of different types. I have done numerous CV boots on my Saab and Subarus, but the last joint I bought had a different type of band, and I ended up using a pair of pliers. That worked OK but was not really very satisfactory ...

I need to change out a steering gear boot that I ripped when I changed the tranny. I that the same type of clamp "band"? Would a cv banding tool work?

i bought a replacement steering rack boot for a toyota from advance auto, it came with a black plastic wiretie / ziptie. i guess there isn't as much wear and tear as on an axle.
