January 20, 200422 yr yeah, throttle cables are pretty easy to change. you might bring the old one in to the dealer to compare, as there were a couple different types of attachments to the pedal on at least some models.52
January 20, 200422 yr Author What I'm trying to get at is this: in my experiance with dealerships here ,most don't carry stuff more than 10 yrs back. A lot of JY's here are the same. I've never been to the Sub dealership here, it's about 1 hr from my house, maybe they do ,I'll call and see. If not, can the end piece be replaced?
January 20, 200422 yr Auto parts stores tend to stock them for Ea81 powered cars so give it a try with yours. I had to special order one at Advance auto but it was like 9 bucks. I didnt end up getting it cuz mine is a turbo and needs a shorter one but it was right for the carb model.
January 20, 200422 yr Author Sat on hold with dealer for WAY too long then I said to myself "Autozone you idiot !" $15...on order. I f I cant't get this carb going I think I'll scrap the truck for parts. Turns out it has more rust on the chasis than I thought. Might sell jumpseats, rollbar etc. anyway just to pay for the thing since IT"S ROTTING AWAY ! Just the chassis though the rest of the body is great.
January 21, 200422 yr Author I thought about that and a sawzall! If I could get my $ back out of it I could put it into a hatch...if one exists around here!
January 21, 200422 yr Originally posted by NV Zeno Might as well shoot for a new one at the dealer first, they're cheap enough. Dealer + Cheap enough? Those words are to never be used together on this board again. The dealer is the last place I'd go Check a parts store before going to the dealer
