i just did head gaskets on my ea81 its a hydro lifter engine how do you adjust the hydro lifter setup...

hydro ea81 (1985+ needs no adjust) the valves are self adjusting, sticker on the valve cover says "warning do not adjust valves"

 

this is one reason why the price value of the 85+ ea81 is higher than older, as the price should be, cause you save on maintenance

If you have removed heads, you will need to do an initial adjustment of the lifters, before starting the engine. I've attached the adjustment procedure from a FSM.

Intake rocker to valve stem gap is .25mm and exhaust is .35mm. A 6mm and 12mm spanner plus feeler gauges is all thats needed once the rocker covers are off.
