1984 GL Hatch, i just put on my weber carb... My throttle sticks and i have to

 

pump the gas once to get it loose so it goes back to idle and it sometimes

 

stays up at 2500 rpm when it sticks.... How can i fix

 

this so i don't have to pump?????????

Well, whats the condition of the throttle cable/plate on the carb? Try some Seafoam Deep Creep to eat any rust that may be starting and then used some oil on the cable and such so it doesn't form again and it'll keep it nice a stick-free btw, when I said oil, I mean a little motor oil or even some 3n'1 will keep it nice. I did the same thing to my throttle body plate and return spring. Works wonders, I mean you don't want to have it stick when your doing 45mph, (Putting it in Nutral or putting the clutch in would be a big mistake) Extrem high reving!

Sounds like you don't have a return spring at all.

You probally need to space the actuator plate out a bit, it's the piece the end of the cable attaches to. Just remove the nut, slide the plate off the shaft, slip a couple of washers on there, replace the plate.
