I meesed up and didn't tighten Dampener nut and ruined my Distributor drive gear. This is the gera that is on crank just behind dampener and front seal,not the gear on the distributor itself.

 

Suby Dlr says it's an obsolete part and the local salvage doesn't want to dig in the snow to look for a bad engine to take gear off of.

 

Anyone have a bad motor that i could buy the gear off of.

Obsolete? That's BS - the EA81 is still made in other countries. They just don't want to get it for you.

Yeah that is total BS. I got one less than a year ago when mine got chewed to bits. It was pricey but here in a day. $65 or so I think from the local Stealer.
