Bye Bye Exhaust

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I have a '87 Turbo Wagon and on the way to work yesterday I was suprised to glance in the rear view mirror and see most of my exhaust laying in the road behind me.

Does anyone know how much its gonna cost to replace it and do I have to have two mufflers and/or a cat?

This isn't a good time for this to happen.

Thanks for your help.

M Karns

The exhaust consists of

1)Downpipe with Built in Cat

2)midpipe with second cat

3)tail pipe with muffler

If you have the cash, have the exhaust shop cut the downpipe at the flange, make a new 2.25 inchone without the cat, 2.25 inch midpipe with a 2.25 inch 3 way cat, going to a 2.25 inch tail pipe with a 2.25 inch muffler... it will cost a few hundred bucks, but performance and gas mileage will improve..

If you are short on cash, go to pep boys and buy a bunch of flex pipe, clamps and a cheapo muffler and go to town.. should cost under $100....

Oh yeah.. and don't forget the coat hangers to hang it all up:D

Well hopefully SOME of it is still there. If the 2 catalyitc converters are still on then you should be able to get by cheap with a mid pipe, a new muffler, some hangers, and labor.

Just gonna have to assess what is left and call some shops telling them what you need. Replacment parts will be expensive so see what they can do for custom applications.

heck,if you pay shipping and send me like $15 i got a stock muffler that i will work, its pretty much brand new, i bought my car a month ago, and it was put on like a month before that, i took hime off for an aftermarket setup.

so if you want it send me a e-mail to sheancorvari@yahoo.com
