got my hatch stuck.. damn mailman...

Featured Replies

on my way back from lunch, i decided to go the back way and play in the snow.. come to the hill that is also an s-curve.. i get around the first bend and theres the mailman comin down the hill.. so i get over, slide off into the ditch.. at first i didn't think anything of it, i thought ok i'll put it in 4wd and go.. haha what a laugh.. damn hatch buried itself right there..

so i backed down the ditch, rocked it for a few minutes.. didn't work.. so i said screw it, cut the wheels so the rump roast end would dig into the embankment.. got the rearend on the dirt, 4low 2nd gear, stomped it.. spun the hole way up the ditch and out i came.. the mailman was nice enough to stop and try to help..

the smell of burnt rubber and clutch sure is nice.. luckily no dents..

You play, you pay. Doesn't sound too bad. I once drove (by accident) into the median here(in AK) in winter and once in hit 4wd on the fly, hammered down and drove the mediam for a quarter mile before muscling out on the road again, and I never lost my place in traffic.

You didn't get stuck. Just delayed. Stuck is when you have to walk 15 miles into town in the dark just to find a phone to call a buddy to come out and save you. And you know your really stuck when the wheeling trip started out with 5 rigs, and they're all stuck now after trying to get you out. :D

hopefully you didn't screw up your new exhaust you had put on but at least you didn't get stuck!!

Nah... stuck is when you take five miles of road, playing around every inch of it, testing the road conditions and exactly how far you can take the car without loosing traction...

Then loose that traction, playing it safe, going over the last hill... slide through the intersection, into a three foot deep ditch, missing the telephone pole by two feet (sure seemed like two inches)...

... then get pulled out by a passing farmer in a pickup truck. That's the definition of being stuck... you've got to get pulled out by a farmer ;o).
