Help my car is Stalling

Featured Replies

Ok my dad just called me and said the car EA82 Wagon is stalling while driving it. He says he waits a few minutes and it will then start and die again after a few more minutes :-\ What could be going on?

mine did that when the alternator died. all the idiot lights would come on and it would run till the carb ran out of fuel. often you could let it sit and the alternator would cool off and work again for a bit.

My mechanic told me it could also be the ignition module thats getting hot. Anyone have any ideas to test/and tips to swap out the alternator or the distributor? Forgot to say it has Throttle body injection.

if your idiot lights all come on id lean toward the alternator being bad. get it to the point where the car dies and then have schucks test the alternator

Check for spark when it dies. If there is none, then you have an ignition problem - which could indeed be the amp module on the coil bracket. Anything that shuts down the ECU would also have the same effect as the ECU will not fire the plugs if it doesn't have power.

Fuel, spark, air, valve timing, ignition timing - one is missing but I can't tell you which one.
