logic23
I recenly dismantled my friends forester engine to find a way overheated piston which was cracked and burned on the top side. Has anyone heard why this happens. On old vws it was a timing/ octane issue. Any ideas?
idosubaru
wow, yeah that's bizarre. was it one of the rear pistons? that's where the head gaskets typically leak on these, may have been proceeded by overheating.
Cougar
My only thought would be the fuel injector for that cylinder was causing a lean fuel condition.
