Sandblasting alloys?

Recommended Posts

On my 1988 salad cutter alloys on my XT6, looked horrible when I bought them.

I used a spray can of paint remover to strip the crappy clear coat off that was trapping the dirt and corrosion under it. after that i used a brass brush on a drill and then a foam sanding block to finish, only took an hour and looks way better.

have yet to re coat them. I chose not to blast them with abrasive so as not to remove the lathe marks that shine so distinctively on alloy rims.

You can tell by the picture but the wheels aren't just black

I came up with my own one off colour

They are black with green glitter

you really have to see it in the sunshine to really get what it looks like

the center caps are in such bad shape I use this stuff called hammer grey
