you should be able to manually crank the belt/buckle part into the upright/closed position, then unplug the control box in the rear of the car so it will not move again.  then it is simply a matter of unbuckling the belt to get in/out of the car.

 

the other half did this with his 90 sedan for more than a year - no extra work needed.
