rweddy
How do I determine whether a 93 Legacy L wagon is front or all wheel drive? If a stick, drop the clutch at 5k and listen. An auto run motor to 5k in N then drop into drive. Just kidding of course, look at rear axle.
roxtar
alternately, jack up all 4 corners and floor it, then get out and watch the wheels spin down.
brus brother
doh!!!!!!!! I went over to the owner's house and while I found all the diagnostic suggestions entertaining, I will rely on the fact that there is an AWD emblem on the rear gate. More dumb questions to follow. Commuter
Do "look" for the rear differential and half shafts. A tailgate could have been changed. Did these years have the emblem on the side windows as well? You shouldn't have to get dirty. Just look in under the rear bumper.
