Supreme price of a true collector '75 wagon?

Recommended Posts

Mary-That'd be the one!!!!

True,we need more pics, that's a given, but just imagine having this thing if it's anywhere near what a 27k vehicle can be like.

I'd gotten a few low mileage vintage Subarus. This one would beat them by a hair as far as mileage.

Not to tout the car shown, but a 1975 Subaru 4WD wagon has significant historical value. It's easily worth $6,000 to me.Not sure about $10k though.Personally,I'd look to get it for around $2,500.Although I feel it's worth more,I'm not the guy to go tossing $6k at it either, right now.I'd take out a loan or dump off what I had to if it were under $3k.

Well again ,it's supply and demand. Prices are GOING to go up. Theres no doubt about it. $500-1000 Subys are soon to be a thing of the past in the Gen 1 era. Cars in that price range are for cars between the end of there original useful life and the beginning of classics. These gen 1s are now past 25 years and classics. $500-$1000 can get you a 1985 Civic or a good used Ford Escort.

I think this price is too high, but I hope he can get it! (Helps my collection appreciate)

There are always good deals to be found, but the general trend is going to be "appreciation", NOT "depreciation". History proves that.

nah, not me, i prefer to keep the prices down, and make it a cheap hobby. to me its alot more enjoyable when you don`t have to spend a fortune to do something you love.i hope it gets stuck with it, and has to sell it cheaper to a true enthusiast.

That's the whole reason I got into it.Just this dang reality setting in that's screwing things up on the purchasing end.:banghead:

Shake 'em out now boys 'n girls.Springtime is best.Have your wallet and tow company ready.Good luck to everyone.

I would kill to have a gen 1 or a gen 2 but we all know I cant afford one right now...thats why Paulyburger has my 82 GLF ..at least I know she is loved and being used and I can get her back when the time is right...we have to save these beautiful rides here in the NE before they disappear completely

When my first Brat died... I was devastated. Me and that car had the best years of our lives! I'm finding better times reviving the new guys... seems they just evoke a spirit in us that has nothing to do with the car itself, but the carefree era in which they were born. I never think of bad things when I drive my oldies. I just smile.

Last week, before the snow and salt came... I drove around with a life-size Santa strapped into the jump seat in the back. I hope I got some smiles back at me. These little guys are precious.

If he gets a buyer......then that's his market. I'll bet there is only one or 2 like these left in existence. NADA can't accurately quote any price, without a market to look at.(and these certainly have a limited market)

Remember, that alot of the people that look at these are now in there 30s. 40s and 50s. People who grew up these cars/ People in there prime earning years.

I seriously doubt he will sell at his price, but it's certainly worth more than 1/4 of that.

JMHO

I doubt it's a scam. He's got a high price, why bother wasting time talking to us about it.Either we pay that price or he re-lists it a little lower.First timers can be funny. And of course, you never know, maybe he's NOT a first timer and scamming.:-\

This is not the first 70's Subaru, not a 360,that's been listed for over $8,000.As I recall, the red wagon in NH (not the ff1 in MA) that I saw while on vacation was indeed parked infront of a dealer with a $10,000 price tag,but the dork inside said they'd take $6,500,but no lower.

Think with your head, not with your heart.:)
