  1. I live in deming and have a few tools even a xmt304 welder. I even have a pulling set for what have you on a front wheel drive car. This get together sound good. Some good pictures out there.
  2. I looked in search first before posting and couldnt find what i was looking for. And was wondering if hooking up your vacuum switch would change your idle speed on a subaru justy efi? See I had a mechanic find and install a new japanese crate motor and the oil pan just wouldnt stop leaking he got the car while under warranty and had it for long periods of time and still didnt fix it. The warranty is no longer and i just got done paying him to do it again and when i got the car back it now has an exhaust leak and stalls out. Has anyone ever had this problem. I am just regretting going to a mechanic and paying out the ears. I tried to find a motor for almost a year and couldnt. Any advice would be great. Or stories.
  3. There is one up here in arlington washington a gl i have pictures. Email me if you want. bobby
  4. Well thank god my f350 was ahead of it pulled the justy forward six inches got under the car and messed with the linkage and got back in the car it poped out. I tried this last night with no success. Just thankful. 89 I know the feeling when stuck but isnt it nice when the cars dont weigh anything when pushing them.
  5. I was searching having the same issue. I have a 91 subaru justy just had a new motor put in it in january. I came home stopped on a hill at my place. Came back out and was about too leave. And started the car putting it in reverse. The reverse is stuck. Even when i put the clutch petal too the floor and the emergency break off it wont roll back.. I dont know what I did wrong any help? robert
  6. I havent contacted the dealer yet but looked on the net too napa and schucks with no luck any one know of a place too get some. I had a new motor put in last january but they never put any in. Also looking for the vacuum control for the 4x4 any help would be nice thanks robert
  7. Your right but it was in an estate with houses all around and a dead end street. I was thinking of putting up a mercury or what is called a vibration switch in a box with a back up alarm. After seeing that guy in seattle that had his sub broken into within a few seconds and driven away suprised what goes on. Now a days people will even just vandalize a car for no reason at all. Thanks for the advice in burnaby. Even if you dont have anything too steal in the car people still get it. Talked with a guy in new west and his whole truck was stolen with all his equipment valued at 100k insurance wouldnt cover it all he said. One friend had his tools stolen and got a call from a pawn shop in portland oregon. They bought his tools from the thieves and called my friend. He drove down there and re bought them. Me i would have went and took them without paying what happened here with a guy that had his generator stolen. He walked right up too the pawn shop and stole back his generator he had the receipt and they called the cops on him. Couple came home and someone got a moving vehicle backed up too the house the thieves cleared out the whole house nothing left when the owners got home. Same with a local shop that was hit twice in a month they even had locks inside of the steel door no good lol.. ugh.. bob
  8. Thought i would add too this thread instead of starting another one. My girlfriend lives in south surrey, british columbia. Her folks live in a very nice private housing estate.. i call it the rich district or upper food chain.. I love my justy good gas mileage and just had a new motor put into it. Great when seeing her once a week. Just need too convince her folks having a subaru "justy" is a good thing. My problem is no matter where you live my car was broken into. Talk about putting a screw driver and destroying a lock. Took the digital camera home telephone tools and my micro set.. Anyone have any ideas on anti theft ideas? I was thinking of putting together a steel box for the back and setting up a motion sensor in a box with a back up alarm.. anyone have ideas? bobby deming,wa
  9. Well the motor I found at the junk yard. They dont know what they have. They will sell it for $100 bucks ugh after all that time. I just dont know if it is any good. All the glass in two of the cars are nice looking no cracks. One is white the other is i think blue. Both rear hatches are in perfect shape. I looked before and I dumped a lot of money into the one I have now. New motor and all cant really complain. Just dont like it idling at about 4000 rpm at 70mph going down the road on the interstate. Wish they would have made a six speed. I still need the 4x4 vac control. I found one but they want $400. Will still work just with a rubber nipple for now. So I guess I need to get out there and take pictures of that yard. There are a lot more than just justy's out there. Some nice newer sub's. I figure I could buy from them and put them on ebay lol. I saw fender go for 250 bucks. About dropped to the floor.. Its almost as worse as that expensive seahawk hot dog.. I guess parts you can do more with..
  10. The 90 justy 5spd no real dents 8th justy off the line that year I had found. I bought for 350 from a guy that put money into a dead horse. Meaning a bad motor. The third cylinder was dead. I would do a "compression check" on each cylinder. If the motor was bad. Its hard to find one. I found one after many telephone calls all over british columbia to wyoming and texas. One company said they had one in shipment and I waited for a response calling every month and found out they where pulling my chain. I was bumbed. I found a motor in idaho a guy had. One of those japanese motors. I learned to always ask the question. "Do you know where you can find one." What a wild chicken chase it took me to find one. With a list I got from off of this site a while back. Did help but had to step further into the mudd. There is a guy on ebay in oregon I think that rebuilds them. I heard he will rebuild a motor or build you one for about 800 I think. I forget the thread but one guy on here talked with him and said he knew what he was talking about. Its cheaper to just get a rebuilt motor than to do it yourself on those I think and much easier. Usually with those japanese motors the wait i found is over 6 months. At a price of 550 bucks. I know shucks has some for sale depending on if it is carburated or efi. All in all irony. A local wrecker I never thought about looking over they had no idea what was in their 10 acre indian wrecking yard they had four justy's two covered in blackberry bushes all there. Just hard to get at unless you had a long machette. One had the right motor just the hood was off and only the starter was missing. I have been meaning to go back and take some pictures to put on here. Have a good one. bobby
  11. I am about two hrs north of seattle. I am thinking it is a bad condensor.
  12. I just bumped into this thread.. a friend has a nice classic car some woman that wasnt insured hit it and the cop was a jack.... told him to move the car with out taking pics ect.. long story short the insurance company.. offered to buy his car for 2500 and he bought the car back for 300 so just a little fyi insurance companies dont tell people. about this way all of them do it i guess is what he said. He bought the parts and saved money in the end. I wish i would have emailed that guy that had his sub stolen in seattle by that guy a few months back and couldnt sell it for what he wanted on ebay. he could have used this to get more money.. With seeing a doctor i have been hit a few times go to a medical doctor md an actual surgeon not doctor at an actual hospital. someone that is a specialist these are the kind of people that insurance companies will make you go and see on there buck.. you might have to pay to get an independent evaluation fyi.. For any info just ask i pretty much know all the games the b.. ards.. try and play.. With an attorney i would be careful you might have a great one just get one out of your town they all sleep in the same bed. . Also this site is good just to browse and look for information on what other people have gone through.. http://forum.freeadvice.com/ I hope all the best. bob

  16. I had a new motor put into the justy and nice cute car i need to put a few pics up. Thing i didnt know at 3500 rpm is 70mph is the transmissions in those that low of a gear? Am i missing something i called the dealer and they where clueless and the book i have only showes how to break one down.. thanks guys.. glade i found this site.. bob
  17. I know there is a swift and a sport my justy i tried looking for a motor all over from the usa japan and canada so i delt with a local mechanic. That has connections and found one. For me then i went to the local indian wrecking yard i swear they have ten acres of cars and they have three there and a crap load of subaru s all over.. I wish i knew how to post pics would show you all some of mine.. cute cars called a fun justy and parts are non existant i found out. Even when trying to find parts.. bobby deming,wa
  18. Temperature is right i took one out of an econoline van first paid though and just used some scrap cardboard and a flat putty knife. Easy by inch by inch i progressed and took it out. bob
  19. Well i took the 90 justy into the mechanic to have another one put in. I thought maybe a guy that deals only in fixing and putting in japanese engines could find one. He did but it was sold before he cold rip out the motor. Schucks has one for $1850 and a five year warranty but they will not tell me what things come with it and it would take a month to get after paying for it. The one he found was a used motor and would cost 700. Atk i waited for them to get back after three months i called back and they said an order was never taken from me. Some gentleman posted a whole bunch of sites on here i called every one except two that where no longer in business. Just trying to track down any help. It is a 90 justy 1.2 litre 12er i believe Gl thanks a bunch, bobby deming, washington
  20. Though i would post a question with an old topic. I talked to atk engines in cali. They said to call back in a month i did. Was told at first they had a motor for 1300 with a core of 200 all free shipping. I called back a month later and they said they did not get a 1.2 litre in. So anyone got any ideas on finding one or was thinking of going to canada and looking for a mechanic to have it rebuilt. Thanks for all the advice. Drive safely.. bob deming,wa
  21. I have known a few real classics under some trees even some model really cool old equipment. I beginning of summer i bought a 25 ton conventional american crawler crane for cheap kinda fun after slowly fixing her up. Good engine puller or car lifter and play around. I called lynnwood and the guy had no clue what it would take. Even if efi would match to a carburated. Hmm just funny my sister gave me a manual for it five months ago then i get the car lol kinda funny huh. bob
  22. Thanks for the responses. I have called all over british columbia asking. From texas to wisconsin to california. http://www.atk-engines.com they want 1595 with a 240 core back with a 3 year unlimited mileage would get it with free shipping to and from japan. And asap wants 595 with a 90 day warranty. I read where a member got burnt so i dont know they said this with a response. We have a nice low mileage engine in stock. It has been hot run tested, cylinder tested, inspected, steam cleaned, palletized and is ready for shipping. The cost of the engine is 595. It has a 90 day warranty, unlimited miles. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate toask. Thanks Scott www.asapmotors.com Sun engines in california has a carburated motor and so does lynnwood japanese for 475 but how hard would it be to convert them my I think it is a ef12 vin is Jf2ka83a0ld700009 i think that would be an 83 then right. I am more of a ford chevy person. Never rebuild a smaller motor. I did hear that with motors that come over from japan sea air gets everywhere even with transit. Great posts and links i have to say almost done reading every post that tells from clutches which seem easier then anything then child seatbelts. bobby
  23. Hello everyone, I was looking for a possibility of a new or reconditioned motor so I checked out the net. Found this very informative forum. A little history in my family with Subaru. With my understanding of Subaru my mom bought one back in Ft. Dodge Iowa. When they first started coming to the united states a lot where not selling so she got a very, very good deal on one and was one of the first to buy one in ft. dodge during the winter time. Everyone in her family said she was stupid. The thing was that they where junk. Later on in the years she was told man those cars sure did turn out to be good. She went back and fourth from the east coast to the west coast over six times. She finally came up to Washington where she meet my father who finally killed it over a head on collision with a truck on a logging road. Great rigs. My problem is I am looking for a motor. I bought the Subaru justy for 350 and was told it only needed new bearings. And the shaft to be turned I have looked at recent posts. Here I was thinking of a great car with the gas mileage. And recommendations ect. Have called a few places and no one has had one for years or they have some but the bottom ends are bad or they are carbureted and they want 500 . It is a 90 1.2 fuel injected. Only reason why the 4x4 doesn’t work is some vacuum box under the hood a hose is broken off. Was wondering if anyone had any recommendations. Should I just have it rebuilt the guy here in my town wants 2000k to rebuild it. Other than that it is a great little car very cute but I should have researched how hard it was to find parts. thanks a bunch. Bob Deming, Wa
