  1. I think they're ea71 ones. I got them mounted up today with a bit of fiddling around. It runs really bad, I have no air filters, and the throttle cable mount is a pair of vice grips....
  2. Hey James, just looking at some pictures of your carbs there. On the drivers side of the throttle linkage, what does it rotate on? I have got some dual carbs and I'm missing this bit, and where does the throttle cable secure. You wouldn't be able to get some pictures of the linkages to help me make them up?
  3. Get them, Then put the centres in something wider, and with more awesome offset Super wide guards sold seperately.
  4. Raw deal, there nowhere to pull over in the tunnel I take it? Did it land on the balljoint? Damage anything?
  5. US dollar is pretty strong compared to ours these days.. Not very willing to part with the wheels though. And not sure on weight.. Light--ish. Lighter than a steel wheel anyway.
  6. Finally got these on the car, Haven't got lower profile tyres like I'd hoped, or sorted out the height. It does scrape the exhaust a lot with the headers under the crossmember though so maybe there is good enough.
  7. Cool video bit of a shame though. Loving the JDM awesomeness
  8. I liked the way it just worked.... It was a supremely awesome ute too.
  9. 1973 1400 GSR ea71 1600 2wd 4spd odo reads 50k/km....only the 3rd time round or so:rolleyes: 1981 Brumby/Brat ea81 1800 4wd 4spd genuine 110000km or so rusty as f@ck 1981 Brumby as above 200k/km+ unknown odo doesn't work repowered a few times apparently. $500NZD accident damaged & very very very rusty at present...Pretty much just a parts thing. finding it very hard to keep collection going. or even sell them if I were to try.
  10. We were stripping bits out of it and that seemed safest way to get under it being as ill-equipped as we were.
  11. She came off just as you said Leeroy. Thanks a ton. Wiper fault was staring me right in the face once I got the wheel off Haven't got on top of the lighting fault though. Any good suggestions guys/wiring diagrams?
  12. So I've had a small hiickup recently in the '73 GSR. No Headlights, taillights, or wipers/washers. Haven't looked too far into it, but was hoping to start on the light stalk area seeing as it's related. My problem is this, the shroud around the steering column/switches etc appears to only be able to come off with the removal of the steering wheel. Second hickup. How do I remove the horn pad correctly to pull the steering wheel? I know generally they can be screwed on from the back or pop off with clips, but after prying carefully I'm not 100% sure and really don't want to bust anything.... Input from anyone who has had this area apart would be super. Cheers!
  13. Nup.. A 21R-U apparently..... 2L, but somehow different to the 18R that it's meant to have... I'd love to have the right deck on there in as good condition as this one. I can hardly fault it. Not really a big fan of flatdecks tbh... Sometimes though.
  14. Yeah. I will be looking out for an original deck, for now though, thats close enough. Its a 1980, with a 2L 21r
  15. So I've put the brumby to rest for a bit untill I can afford to fix the rust properly. I then purchased this.. its taking a bit of getting used to, I am missing the comfortable ride, and comparative performance of the brumby still... So uh.. What are some good toyota forums? and wow, it sure can leak some oil...
  16. You mean like this? Thats one I got bored at work with and polished.... I've got like... 20 of them.. Standard issue on most 4x140 steels I thought...
  17. http://www.oldschool.co.nz/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=15387 http://www.pickapart.co.nz/locations.asp Can't find a PH#, They look to be Email Savvy.
  18. Just move here, I think we've got enough to go around.. Also, James. I have heard there is a 72-73ish GSR in the Auckland Takanini pick-a-park car wreckers. just fyi
  19. Really? I've always found them very prompt and upfront with things. I'm sure there a good explanation for it, I heard they had issues with the production of the first issue and getting it out to subscribers. I can't wait till my #2 turns up!
  20. +1 Second issue is yet to come out as far as I am aware.
  21. So I got these all mounted up finally a few months back. Then I was lucky enough to be able to purhase these. 13x5.5 again. Looking to get some lower profile tyres on them. It will mess up the gearing, but with a slight suspension drop, awesomeness should result.... [/bRAG] Also, random fact for the books. these alloys have a bit more offset than the factory steels, which accentuates the fact the track on the front wheels is noticeably wider. Eg, rear wheels tuck under the guards, front wheels are directly flush, if not sticking out. Looks like a fwd drag car from the right/wrong angles....
