Mixed tires on AWD Legacy
NWScooby replied to lhrocker's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI think you would be better off having all four the same size. You can choose which size to go with (185 or 205), with price and gas milage factors being the decision points. just my .02

Weird reverse problem (02 Forester)
NWScooby replied to RubyTueSoob's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXAs a computer professional, I think it is a Microsoft-esque automobile design. Sort of like when you delete something and the computer asks "Are you sure?"

Weird reverse problem (02 Forester)
NWScooby replied to RubyTueSoob's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI too have had this issue with my '98 OBW ('97 Nissan Altima also). Both cars would go into reverse fine if you put the car in neutral and let off the clutch, then pressed the clutch in and tried reverse again. Now it makes sense knowing reverse is not sychronized.

Temp. control & radio lights
NWScooby replied to Rooskie's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXVery nice! I wish I had had the photos and RadioShack bulb info before I did mine. Thanks for giving links to all of that PAezb.

'98 Outback Headlights/Fogs???
NWScooby replied to kenfb1's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI installed the silverstars in the headlights, and the cool blues in the fog/driving lights. I also adjusted the fog/driving lights to point a little more up (2 rotations on the adjustment screw). Light output does seem better. Anyone know if the newer fog/driving lights fit in the '98 OBW? Mine have some small holes in them, and are really badly clouded. Or if someone has ever cleaned them inside and out, any advise would be appretiated.

Temp. control & radio lights
NWScooby replied to Rooskie's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXIf you are talking about the three bulbs that light up the temp control panel, go to this link: http://www.randomsoup.com/how_acpanelbulbs.html I followed these instructions, and got the job done easy. Unfortunately, the photos are gone, but the instructions are pretty clear.

OBW Lift with out lift kit?
LOL I don't think I noticed the 2wd part before. People still lift 2wd trucks, but not sure if it is really worth it.

OBW Lift with out lift kit?
I don't think so Eric. I seem to remember reading elsewhere on the board mention of Mudrat79 custom making the lift kit. BTW, I like your page Eric. Flash would look pretty good with a 2" suspension lift:brow:

OBW Lift with out lift kit?
Very cool. I will have to contact him so I can see what costs and time would be involved. Thanks for the info Free Range!

OBW Lift with out lift kit?
JEGIII, do you have any pics of your OBW with the springs on? Also, did you install the springs yourself, or did you have to have a suspension shop do it? I have a '98 OBW that I would like another 1" or 2" clearance.

I finally have a reason to post in here!
Very nice! My first suby was a '96 Impreza. Same color as yours. I loved that car, but I could not really afford it at the time. Enjoy!

Forester Tire Help (Toyo Tires)
NWScooby replied to howards11's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI have had Toyo tires a bunch of times, and have always thought they were good. I have them on my 98 outback wagon now (Toyo Spectras) and they do really well. They are a great wet weather tire. I have also had the Toyo 800 Ultras, and these are great as well. They seem to do fine in some snow, but I think I would prefer a true snow tire if I was going to be in the white stuff a lot. (Luckily we don't get a lot of snow around here). Hope this helps some.
