I agree, I don't go there anymore either. Too big and too nasty. There are only a couple boards that I visit lately. This one, the Toronto-Subaru_club one, although that one is going down the tubes as well, and RS25.com. And then some racing and VW beetle boards...... Man, I need to get a life Rob.

Hey Snotrocket, Do you have an EJ25 or 22 in your bug ? Can you do me a favour and measure the with of the engine (the timing belt cover being the widest point I guess) and measure the inside of the engine compartement of the bug ? I just got my engine adapter so I finally know how the EJ25 is going to sit, and now it turns it it won't fit between the sides. This means I have to cut off the sides where the fenders mount and fab up some one piece rear end Thanks, Rob

I'm relatively new to the older generation of Subarus and have a question about the 'GL Hatcback' model like this one: (Bugaru, hope you don't mind I borrowed your pic) Does anybody know if these were/are available in Canada as well ? Is model actually called 'GL Hatchback' ? What years where these available ? I really like the 2 door hatch style... Thanks ! Rob.

'04 WRX Wagon 3(!) new O2 sensors (yes, one was replaced twice). Rear window seal acts as a water reservoir (Doens't leak into the car though) Intermittend shudder when getting off the gas when at high boost. But I absolutely love the car, dealer has been really good on fixing the issues (so far). Rob.

Very cool ! Let me know when you bring it out to one ot the GTA meets. Would love to see it in person. Rob. -
I was cleaning my valve covers before I put them back on the EJ25, and noticed that one of the covers was damaged. It looks kinda weird, doesn't look like it got hit by something.... maybe heat ? Take a look. They still look ok from the inside, so I'll still use them. I actually noticed it when I ran a rag over the cover and it got caught by the edges of the cracks... Rob.

I just had my timing belt tensioner checked and compressed at the dealer. When I went to pick it up he pointed to a damaged piece of the housing. He said 'he wasn't sure if it would held up'. I looked at the tensioner's damage and ca not imagine that this will have any effect on the working of the tensioner. However, I want to make sure......don't want the thing to die on me and wreck my engine. So please take a look at the pics, and let me know what you think..... Thanks, Rob. You can see the damage on the top just left of the pin.

Hey Nuwan, Yeah I am on TSC as well (rvanbran) and also on the SPDA forums. Rob. -
There is a supercharger kit for the EJ2.5. There are some volkswagens in Europe that have a G-lader, also a supercharger variant. Doens't the Nissan Xterra come with a supercharger ? And don't forget the new Cooper S..... Rob.

Yup, I'm from Canada. I live in Dundas, Ontario. Currently own an '04 WRX wagon, and I am in the process of putting an EJ25 in my 1970 Beetle. Rob. -
I only did one side at the time, and made sure everything went back exactly the same. I messed around a bit with the 1st cam cap, and was able to get them to turn reasonably easy. But there definately is a difference in force needed between the cams. I'm going to leave it as is right now, I've put the cam sprockets back on and I can turn all cams easily. Thanks for your help, Rob.

Allrightie then, I finally had some time to work on the engine again. (Having an addition to the family sure takes up a lot of time ) Anyway, I've got the drivers side head back on, but when I reinstalled the cams, I noticed that the exhaust cam was binding a bit. I retorqued the bolts, in a different sequence this time, and I was able to move the cam reasonably easy. But it still doesn't rotate as easily as the intake cam (when not lifting the valves of course). Is this 'normal' , or a sign of a problem ? On the passenger side I noticed quite a bit of coolant in the pockets outside the cylinders. This is not supposed to be there is it ? I am guessing this is becuase the gasket was leaking ? Thanks, Rob.
