i'm running a Garmin Streetpilot 2610, i luv it, granted it doesn't tell my tire pressure....but i never have a problem finding an address, and i am able to plug the memory card into my computer, or the unit itself for software and map updates. and they are way cheaper. i would check on how the maps are brought up to date on the factory models a couple of years down the road when things have changed. also i don't have the custom in the dash installation. but i can grab my temp mount to stick it in a different car, or even on a cruist ship to track our progress. here is a picture of the install. the mount is made from polymer clay that is baked to harden it.

THANK YOU i don't want to run a hotter t-stat, i'm on original head gaskets and i don't want cause any undue, or different parameters. don't believe there is an air bubble, seems to be heat, just no airflow. sounds like if the filter is clogged it could reduce the air flow, meaning i would have to run the fan to get enough heat. it's so clear to me now:banghead: now...when i get something less then 2 feet of snow in the drive i'll pull it apart and check it out. thanx all.....i luv this place... my soobies rock.....but i ponder....did i buy subaru just to be here?

hi all, looking for anyone who might know why. my 92 legacy heater will run you out of the car, temp set just over halfway and no fan. in my 99 outback i have to run it all the way to hot and run the fan to stay comfortable. temp guages on both are rock steady in the center of range. i've noticed other things aren't as nice in the outback as are in the legacy, does it have a cheesier heater. coolant level is good, i've considered a flush, it's a 2.5. should i replace the dealer coolant gunk if i flush it?

i just bought a 99 outback, i couldn't believe how great the stereo sounds. i noticed it has the tweeters mounted on the doors, inside opposite the mirrors, i've seen them for sale pretty resonable. then when digging through the paperwork i found out it has the optional subwoofer, PN H6300AS030, installed under the driver seat. i think it sounds fantastic for a stock system. of course bear in mind, i'm old and my hearing is pretty much toast

hi all, well i finally sold my honda and bought a 99 OBW, limited, 72K, in great shape. What an awesome car. i'm a little nervous about the 2.5, but it made the trip from portland just fine. Now, the only real problem i have with it is the drivers side power mirror.(heated). It doesn't move...it makes noise but nothing happens, and i can't move it manually. i've searched and can't find anything on it. does anyone have any idea on the difficulty of dissasembly, or will it have to be replaced? thanx for you input

IT WAS A BUST!!!! had this all set up over the phone, with the owner... drive 4 hours...show up and the salesman grabs the keys and walks me out to a 99 outback sedan with over 100k on it and looks like it had been beat! in a nutshell....owner said he wouldn't swap the wagon (which was just what i was looking for) for my accord, this happened on the phone, he would come look at my accord....to see it was nicer than anything else on his lot... so....looks like i'll just sell my accord outright then continue to shop for my dream subie! thanx all for the info....it'll help p.s. anybody wanna buy a really nice accord for $11K, books for $12.7

all good information... i looked at all the book values...the price seems right, he says there is paint inperfection on the hook (it's less than perfect) this info 1999 SUBARU LEGACY OUTBK/SSV/LTD/30TH as well as the rest i copied right from the carfax report...the dealer just listed it as a legacy it says it was a lease vehicle and it came from colorado.... i don't know if they use salt there... and it's not white...it's blue i'll be leaving at 5am PST to drive down and check it out....i'll stop in here before i leave you've given me good ideas as what to look for, and i'm a fair mechanic so hopefully i can spot problems.....but with all the reading here, HG do scare me a bit thank you all also...carfax listed no open recalls on this car ?

hi folks... well... i made a bunch of noise at a bunch of dealers, i have one that wants to trade straight across for my 99 Accord (i'm selling for $11K) he's asking $10.9K for the Outback. it is 1999 SUBARU LEGACY OUTBK/SSV/LTD/30TH Body Style:STATION WAGONEngine:2.5L H4 PFI DOHC 16VFuel:GASOLINEDriveline:ALL WHEEL DRIVE it has 68,350 miles carfax looks okay the numbers seem okay, it saves me the hassle of selling my car. should i be worried about head gaskets? what should i be looking for? i appreciate your input....this has a short fuse, like...i would have to leave in the morning to drive down and get it.

93 loyale oil amount?
Rodney7286 replied to NewDriverOlderRide's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
i just put Amsoil 10w30 in a 92 legacy with 195k, i picked up a couple mpg, been using the stuff for years, no problems in older engines as long as they have been maintained and no sludge buildup, best i can prove is 4 mpg increase just by changing to synthetic....1978 mazda glc 1.5
