Hi Guys & Girls, It is me Again! I got Two Loyales, this question is About the EA82, now "Weberized" The country where I live has very BAD roads; so long time Ago, I had the Idea of Lift "Just a Little Bit" my Subie. I have already changed the Rear Shock Absorbers and the Rear Coil Springs using parts from other brand cars, (as you can Read & See Photos ~► Here) Also, I changed the Front coil Springs, but my Suspension Mods lead my Subie to Sit two inches (2") Taller in the Rear ... So my Subie looks "Weird" ... Despite that I don't use my Subie to off road very often, but since I drive it most of the Time in unpavemented roads and mud is Everywhere; a Little Lift in the front could help to Level both ends... my Front bumper is Too Low ... I have Search over the Internet, and Saw the "Scorpion Lift Kits" (http://www.scorpionsubaru.com) I don't need the whole kit, just something to put between the front shock absorbers (Struts) and the Chassis, to just lift the Front the same 2" (two Inches) I gained in the Rear. Maybe I need Just This Things?: (Lift Blocks) But they told me by e-Mail, that they Don't Sell kit Parts, Just the Whole Kit... ...So I searched more and more... and I did Reached This Site: http://www.sjrlift.com Where a I contacted by e-Mail a Kind Guy called Scott, and he told me that if I put this Front Lifting "Things" on my EA82 Subie: I will need to extend the steering shaft at a local shop. Really I don't Want to do major Job in my Subie, just a Li'l Lift, So I ask him if they got somethin' about just 2" and He told me that he could make a especial Pair of 2" front strut Liftin' "Things". I think it is Good Idea and I want to Purchase those "Things" ... so the Questions of this post is: ► Is it Safe to put 2" liftin' "Things" on my EA82 Subie's front Struts? ► Will the Subie Work Properly? ► Will the Subie be more Dangerous to Drive? ► How did you to fix this situation if you ever have been in something like that? Please, Tell me more about it, and if is Good Idea, or if there are better Ideas... Thank you in Advance. Kind Regards. ► Updated to add the Tags for the New USMB Search System and Update the Web Links.

(Crazy Idea thread) What'll happen if...
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to fbh's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Hi Guys! I think the Dual Carb question in a EA 82 is perfectly Possible, but is a Lot of Work. I know that the Performance will increase a lot over the single Hitachi carb. But first of all, you must know that the Dual Hitachis really means Dual Troubles. I will sugest to Use the Weber 32/36 DEGV instead of a Dual Hitachi craps. I own a EA82 since 1985 (Well my Dad, since I was Kid) and Now it´s "Weberized" and is a Whole World Appart in better Performance than the CrapTachi. But I think just only one Weber is enough. but if you still want to put dual carbs. in a EA82, I must tell ya: "Go Weber" and trow away the Hitachi. Also, you must visit this Site: http://ramengines.com/_wsn/page2.html They made custom manifolds for Subaru Engines. this Pic. is for the EA81 with Dual Intake Ports and Molded Manifold. (Also: Forget the Craptachi too): And this is a Dual Mikuni Carbs Subaru EA81 (Forget Hitachi Too) Maybe they can help you. So, I sugest to Use Dual Webers, it would be Fantastic! but the Performance gain over just one Weber is just -only- a Little Bit. maybe dual carbs means dual troubles; but forget about it. If you want it, you must Try it. Maybe it is a good idea to the EA82. Send us Feedback about it. Bye... -
Strange stuff happenin
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to xforxlifex's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Well... My '85 EA82 Weberized GL Wagon, had an Horrible Loud Noise, when I pull the Clutch at a mid high rev's; when the car is parked. Example: in a Stop, when the car stops totally, and then you want to move it; put the 1st and pull the cluch at near 3000 RPM's and a Loud "...OOOoooooiiiiiiiiii..." came from the inside of the Gear box. I think maybe it's a worn clutch press. The Clutch disc is New, the center ball bearing too... etc. All seems to be Good and new. But the Noise... (Hear "Twilight Zone" musical theme... ) ...The Noise is oo Loud and abnormal. Not metallic, not Cracking, etc... just a Loud scream. First, i was thinkin' maybe the Rubber belts did it. I changed everything. It sound like a Belt, but it´s the Gearbox. Any Idea how to Fix it Up??? Kind Regards. -
It means that my Configuration setup is alright. Thank you So Much. The Only thing I wanna Know is if the speedy Metallic Rattle Sound that I Hear between 750 / 1200 RPM's is a "Normal" Rattle of the P.C.V. Valve, or if that sound is something going Wrong, as it Started with this Hoses Configuration. Kind Regards.
-
Below are the Photos of my Hose Configuration, done as Subarian suggested above; I've noticed that with this configuration, I can hear a Little Metallic Sound, like a Very Speedy Rattle, just between the 750 and the 1200 RPM's, it doesn't sound like the regular valves or pinging sounds, instead, it sounds more like if the mere P.C.V. Valve is now rattling like crazy ... ... so please: Check the photos below and let me know if the setup is right or not. Kind Regards.

Hitachi or Weber, and Why?
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to Loyale 2.7 Turbo's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Of course not, that was a Project. I received my Redline-Weber K-731 retrofitting Kit, So, the Continuation of this Topic, is in Here: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/50694-weber-swap-done-how-to-connect-heads-tubes/ Please, follow that link to see the Progress of the "Weberized" Subie. Thank you all Kind Regards. THREAD CLOSED -
O.K. Thanx for your Answers... Last Night, I have done This: First of All, I Plugged the Left and the Right Valve Cover's Hoses in a 5/8" Tee. Then I Plugged the Open End to Another 5/8" hose and Tee, which has one open end connected to the PCV valve (Mid-Engine) Hose, and the Last remaining open end, went to the Air Filter Box of the Weber. Soon I Will put here photos of that. Kind Regards.

Yes, I Got more Pictures, the Yellow wagon is my "Loyale 2.7 Turbo" project car; but in this thread, I'm writing about my EA82 White Wagon. Follow this link to see photos of my yellow wagon: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=51053 With the Weber, the EA82 is Running better than ever! But I want to Connect the Open Hoses for the P.C.V. system, the Hoses from each Valve Cover and the PCV Valve. As suggested above by Subarian, I will join both valve cover Hoses in one TEE, and I will Attach the Mid-engine hose to Another Tee. Then I will Joint the Valve Cover Hoses open end tee, to one of the two remaining open ends of the Mid-engine Tee, and the only one open end that remains alone, I will connect it directly to the Weber's Air Filter Box. I Think it will work Fine. but Tell me: Will the Mid-Engine Hose (PCV) Suck Oil from the Valve Cover Hoses? Is there any problem near or future with this Config.? Please. Answer this As Soon As Possible. Thank you So Much. Kind Regards.

First of All: Thanx a lot for your answer. The K731 Redline Weber Kit, Came with an air filter Box that has only one Small Nipple to insert a 5/8" hose to it. There is a Hose coming from each head, and a third one coming from the middle of the engine's back, at the intake manifold; I can Figure out how to Connect those three hoses to each other with a sort of X adapter, and the Open one should go straight to the Air Filter, as you wrote; but seems like the P.C.V. system will not suck the fumes properly with that setup... Any other ideas? Kind Regards.

This Thread is a Continuation from This one ~► Here, which have more Background information regarding the Weber Carburetor search. ______________________________________________________________________________________ Greetings, Fellows. I already installed the 32/36 Weber carburetor on my EA82 Subaru engine, but I am not sure at this point, how should I connect the PCV system hoses to the small air filter box. Do you know how Should I route the PCV system hoses, on a Weber Swap in the EA82? Thanks, Kind Regards.

Hitachi or Weber, and Why?
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to Loyale 2.7 Turbo's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Hi Guys! Well... Actually I urgent Need the Complete Kit for my 1985 2WD Loyale GL, with the EA82... The Hitachi Died long time ago, But since I need often this car, I have it running with a Nissan's Sentra 1600 Carb... and it runs PATHETIC! Pathetic in this case means that this carburetor does not have enough power for high revs. and changing needles only does it take more gas... for nothing happened... I hate this Situation, so I need Urgent a Weber One... Please. I live in Honduras, Central America but there is no problem with internet buying, We here do it almost everyday... Our office have a Mailbox in Miami... So it will be Shipped to Miami and then here. No problem. Please: Give me the Correct "Direct" Link to buy it inmediately, but I only want to Know Three things before buying: Is that Kit designed exactly to fit on my EA82 Engine, also the Air Filter Box? Is that kit Complete? Because I live in Honduras and I don´t have time to wait for each part to come individually, I Need them All in one box. How is the Gas Mileage diference between the Stock Hitachi and the Weber? Last Info: I need the "Electric Choke Version" Thanx a Lot P.S: here is an Image of the my other car, Subaru Loyale 2.7 (It has the ER27 Engine from a XT6) Project. Edit: the Project 2.7 is Dead, please follow this ~► Link to read further information. Kind Regards. -

Hitachi or Weber, and Why?
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to Loyale 2.7 Turbo's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Of Course, I have a nice set of Photos, and a Wallpaper I have made by myself... But tell me, How to open an Album Here? I am new to this site. Thanx... -
Appreciated Fellows, I have Two Subies: one is my EA82 Carbureted wagon 2WD That came from California, USA, Model 1985. The other is practically the Same wagon but the Honduran Model, on which I retrofitted an ER27 engine. The trouble I got is with the EA82 carbed one... The original carburetor (which worked fine until the 250K miles) is now ruined. it failed and I took it to an "Expert" in carburetion mechanic, who mixed it up with Nissan's carburetors parts... and broke it up. The official Subaru Dealer for Honduras sells a "Half" carburator, which is the base with all needles, gaskets, etc.. in it, but it is LADM (Latin American Domestic Market) Specs and does not fit the USDM ones... So Now I have a Soup of Carburetor parts... And I need your Help. Wich one is better to buy and why: A brand New Hitachi, or a Brand New Weber? I do prefer a Weber, but someone told me that webers have a bad gas mileage, Is it Right? Please: Help me Soon... Kind Regards.
