  1. Thanks I'll give that a try, that would be an easy fix.
  2. My 87 FI GL has been having a strange occurance. While driving the cel light flashes on for just a split second and with it the car kind of stutters. There doesn't seem to be any special driving condition to make it happen, just periodically happens from going down the freeway to sitting idle at a light. I checked for codes and it didn't show anything. I've looked through my "Chiltons" and "How To Keep Your Subaru Alive" manuals to no avail. What might be causing this? All maintenance is current on the vehicle, just turned 56K miles. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.:-\
  3. I have an 87 gl sedan with lap belt style seatbelts in the back seats, for safety reasons I would like to change the belts to shoulder and lap combo. Has anyone done that conversion?
  4. I'v heard a lot of good things about running Amsoil and other synthetics, I'v also heard that you shoud not run synthetics in higher mile engines if they have always had regular oil, due to the difference in wear, and the possibility of leaks. Anyone know if there is any truth to that?
  5. 87' just turned over 54K, bought it from my grandmother first of the year, she took great care of it.
  6. I have installed three in the last year, in an Explorer, Sedona, and a Grand Cherokee. On all of them I mounted the unit in the middle or upper are of the dash, and ran the antenna wire either up behind the dash or down and under the dash. From there I'm not familiar with the layout in the newer Outbacks, but you should be able to run it either down the side of the vehicle under the plastic trim, either along the floor or over the windows back to the hatch. From ther you can run it up along the top of the hatch, zip-tie it to something in the center area and out onto the roof. Should take 30min. at the most. Hope this helps.
