  1. Not to threadjack but how about the rear windshield? I scored one from a GL-10 Turbo to replace the one in my Loyale...haven't even trial-fitted it yet.
  2. I must agree! Can't wait to play with my Roo in the snow. Nice pic!
  3. The emblem is 2 3/4" wide at the top, then narrows to 2 1/4" at the bottom. It is 1 3/4" tall and about 2" deep (thickness of the grille? lol).
  4. Thanks guys; I'll check around. Actually I think one of my neighbors has a MIG.
  5. I was wondering what the best way would be to go about fixing this broken seat mount. The previous owner was a 350 pound powerlifter and I guess he plopped down into the saddle one too many times... Already I have tried to hammer the broken piece back into shape so that it might match up to the rest of the mount again. Some needle nose pliers were also used to try to re-shape the mount as well. My plan is to take a thin strip of 2" wide stainless steel and fashion a makeshift bracket in the hope of re-forming the mount. I'll try my best to bend it into some kind of useable shape that will completely wrap around the damaged area, then secure it with machine screws & nuts (drilling additional holes if necessary). Is this a good idea, or do you think that a competent welder could fix the problem?
  6. Hmmmm, it might be awhile; but you can have my SPFI setup when I get done with it, if you still want it.
  7. If I can, I'd like to convert this car to resemble an AWD XT Turbo. The tranny is already in my possession.
  8. I think you answered your own question KBD! The point is that I can and do like to challenge myself. I build Mustangs most of the time but I like 'Subes too so I thought I would try something different. True, the power gain will be marginal at best but I am collecting parts for this car at little or no cost, such as the intake that I scored. From what I've read, MPFI offers an increase in fuel efficiency but I can't confirm that. An EJ engine would be great, but any large investment at this point will defeat my original mission of building a cool car out of basically junk and leftover parts.
  9. Will do Mike! This is but one in a long list of upgrades/mods that I have planned for this vehicle. When it is finished it will surely be something "special". Stay tuned!
  10. Oh, OK, I see. Thanks GD! So I can reuse my existing cam towers then? Will there be any piston-to-valve conflict with my existing short block?
  11. Hello! Got an MPFI manifold for my SPFI '93 Loyale. I believe Frank B. said it came from an XT Turbo... I was wondering how hard this mod is to do, and maybe what else do I need? ECU perhaps? Wiring harness? Gasket kit of course...
  12. I'll bet a Justy engine could work. Not sure if that would be an upgrade though.:-\
  13. I remember a lesbian friend of mine telling me that she wanted a Baja once...at the time I commended her for her practicality and style.
  14. Here are the parts that Frank hooked me up with, and of course the AWD transmission.
  15. This is a great thread. I love Subes and can't wait to start working on my Loyale. She sits quietly under a tree waiting for me to get some free time to spin a few wrenches on her. I have owned an '88 DL in the past and loved it too. That car took all the punishment I dished out and still came back for more. There is no doubt in my mind that with a little work it would still be running today; but alas that car is long gone. Now that I have another vehicle in which to get my Sube fix and I'll never let it go. AWD conversion, EA82T upgrade, autocross race modifications; I want to do it all. Long live the Loyale!
  16. At this time I'd like to thank Frank B. for being true to his word and hooking me up with a free AWD tranny, along with some other goodies. I took a 6 hour (round trip) drive last Saturday to scenic Luray, Virginia and visited Frank at his place in the mountains. He gave me the tranny plus the cross-brace, an MPFI intake manifold, part of the air filter housing, two MPFI heads (minus cams & valves), an EA82T turbo downpipe, an extra starter, a water pump and a pulley. I'll post pics later. To Frank B.: Thanks bud! I really appreciate it.
  17. As do I. Found a nice vinyl spare tire cover with a cherry spare in it from an old XT in the junkyard. I'm sure it wouldn't stay so nice if it were under the hood; plus it puts some ballast over the rear tires for better handling.
  18. I do. How far is Chesterfield from where you are? Oh, and about how big is it? Thanks Frank.
