  1. I am getting the 4" Ozified. I just wanted to know about the tires and rims so I can go ahead and get them. I don't want to pass up the deal on the rims and I'd rather have the rims and the drilled hubs waiting so when I put the lift on I can get the tires mounted and slap 'em on there.... I'd rather not ride around with the lift and stock tires, that's just me.
  2. I was talkin about his 28" swamper TSLs
  3. How much cutting and beating is involved to prevent rubbing? I have no problem eliminating sheet metal or other parts, I am just curious as to what is ahead of me.
  4. I have a friend that will sell me a set of 4 AR Outlaw II rims for $75. they are 15x7 with a 6-5.5" lug pattern. I haven't drilled my hubs yet. I was wondering if any knows of these rims will fit ok? I know the backspacing is 3.75 and the offset is -6.00mm. I really need to get on this though, that is one heck of a deal !
  5. When you replace the studs, is there any extra work besides the drilling of the 4 holes? such as changing the original two used for the template? or do you just mark and drill the 4 holes then knock out the old studs and pound in the new?
  6. SuperSwampers are available, I personally don't rate them to highly. Swampers are great if you use them for their inteneded use and you know how to drive..... And most of all, understand when you purchase them, that you aren't getting 50,000 miles out of them.
  7. I don't think we have any recycling centers around here that would have rims laying around.... I'd say the closest thing to that would be the junk yards.
  8. I was at a friend's house last night and we were talking about the trailer he built out of an old Nissan p/u frame. I looked down and Behold! he had a set of outlaw 2s on it. I think they are 15" rims and 6 lug. What I don't know is how wide they are, I am assuming they are 7" after checking out the summit page. Anyway, he said I could get all 4 for $75 or if I could find a set of steely rims, he would trade for them. This is great and definately gets a...... and a.....
  9. I am having a Fab instructor drill my hubs because I trust him and all of the tools in the shop I work in are junk. Why complain and make things difficult when he is doing them for free? I also haven't heard any info back on getting 14x6 rims for cheap...
  10. I wasn't saying that it wouldn't be a Subaru anymore, I am just saying that if you aren't trying to keep your Subaru completely subaru, then why not just go the distance and build a crazy rig instead of "hey guys, if I rip this off and discard the steering wheel... I can fit a stronger driveshaft in it"... I agree with the fantasy posting. I think we are saying the same thing in two different languages, that's all.
  11. I have a fab shop with the equipment I need to drill them, that's no prob. What do you mean by "doing up" the original two studs first???
  12. why would you spend the time and money to put a beefy front end under a Roo when you could spend less money and have an all around beefy rig by putting the whole car on a 4x4 frame. Either way, you are still placing another vehicle component in place of the Roo component. It's not like it will be all subaru when it is done either way......
  13. What was your main point? What were you getting at with the Nissan versus the Desert Rats ?
  14. I wouldn't reccomend "hand drilling" hubs or wheels... I haven't had mine done yet but I know if you drill them and anything is off, they will be out of balance, and not too safe.:-\
  15. Do you know what wheels you have? I couldn't find any "cheap" wheels on Summit.
  16. Any idea what the stock offset is? I don't really know what I am looking for here.
  17. I have no problem with the tires passing the fenders in terms of width, I am currently working on fabricating baja fenders for my hatch. I just want to make sure I have enough backspacing, that is the largest part. I looked on the summit racing page and all I could find was one pair of rims in 14x6 for $100 ea.
  18. Junkie, do you know the offset on your rims? I just searched for your rim post and couldn't find it... what do I search for? Do Chevy, Ford, and Yota all have different 6 lug patterns? I need to know what I am looking for.
  19. I am working on making flared baja fenders for my hatch. They are going to be fiberglass but I will keep an extra pair and the molds handy for replacement. I will post some pics when they are done.
  20. I am going to drill my hubs to run 6 lug rims. I need to find a few wheel makers that carry a 14x6 rim with pretty good backspacing. I am only gonna run 27x7" and 27x9.5" tires.
  21. Thanks phizinza... that helps alot, you get a dancin' banana for that one !!!
  22. I'll have to give that a shot...
  23. Are those tires Harvester Kings??? Anybody got any idea if they had to do anything special to get those on there? BTW...that is awesome:headbang:
  24. That's all good and well but this is a Subaru board not a Yota forum. I own a subaru and don't plan on getting rid of it anytime soon. And I sure as crap ain't gettin' rid of it to get a yota.
  25. I think I would wet myself if I could fit those tires on a set of rims that fit my hatch... I'd say the engine would give up on turning them before they would spin. that would be awesome !!! But I'm definitely going to talk to my Fab guy about this.
