  1. Anyone know if it would be possible to put the Harvest King all purpose tractor tires on a hatch? strictly for off road use of course... I'm callin' that company monday to get some info. http://www.tbcprivatebrands.com/harvestking/lines.asp?sub=92&type=31&cat=44
  2. Ahight, thanks guys... I also looked up the torsion bar adjustment on my ride and figured that out. Someone that owned it before me apparently felt the need to adjust everything as high as it would go. my rear rides higher than my front end and I'd like to level things out. I tried adjusting the torsion bar but I think the adjustment nut is pretty well fused on there. How much pressure would be too much before I am risking breakage?
  3. What should I put in the search field??? I entered... LSD, limited slip differential, converting, 3.90, and others and nothing came back.
  4. I have been trying to read up on LSDs and I haven't found what I am looking for. My searches just bring up people wanting them or asking what an LSD is and stuff like that. What type of rear diff. does the EA81 Hatch come with stock? (open?) And what LSD will fit in that car?
  5. Thanks, I just contacted OZ and I am waiting on a reply.... my hatch should be rollin' with it's head a little higher in no time thanks to y'all.
  6. Is PK Davis the Ozified lift? That was what I was going to go with in the beginning and then I discovered a whole new world of lifts... I guess I'll go back to them.
  7. Thanks guys, I think that clears things up.
  8. No, it's a downhill straight line car, I don't need to turn.... no need for sarcasm, I am asking because I don't know and I am trying my best to learn.
  9. Am I going to have to install a steering ext. no matter the lift?
  10. I just want to run 27x9.50s, I don't want anything larger because of the gearing. I am satisfied with that. I don't mind chopping on stuff but I don't want to cut anything that would be detrimental to the structural integrity of the car.
  11. I have read much about lifts on here but I am still a little shaky on proceeding. All in all, I want to run 27" mudders comfortably on my EA81 Hatch. I have a coil over strut front susp. and a torsion bar rear. I advice from some experienced off road and on road Roo drivers... Such as which lift to go with, any extra susp. components I might need, Rather I need larger brakes, Etc. Etc. and please don't tell me to use the search, I have and all that still leaves my questions wide open... anything is appreciated.
  12. So, does anyone know if the jeep frame is wider than the actual car or if it just won't fit as snug as the Sammy frame?
  13. So you just swap out the EA81 axle joint cups for EA82 joint cups and everything fits comfortably and everyone is happy ? what will this do if there is no present lift?
  14. I wish I could, man that would be awesome. But as of now, I have perfect attendance... that may seem cheap, but that is what employers look at. anyway, I don't mind the choppin' and as long as the jeep frame ain't wider than the actual car.... I'll make the neccessary sacrifices to do it, Since I was 13 I've always wanted a Subaru 4.0L with like 36"s. And about the suspension, I have that under control. It's a secret recipe one of my buddies uses and I don't want to let it out until I know if it works on the Jeep-a-Roo.
  15. The plan was to chop everything off the Roo from the firewall forward. mount the Roo on the frame. Tube frame the front end and hang sheetmetal when all is done. My main concerns were driveshaft, steering, pedals, tranny tunnel. what else do you have to add to my list of worries?
  16. How do you lift the running gear when it is connected to the rear diff. ?
  17. Yeah, I'd like to go to the show, but it probably won't be this year. I am in school at Nashville Auto-Diesel College and I will be here until October. When you lengthen the Sammy frame, what drive shaft do you use? won't that make the sammy shaft too short? Any idea how much too wide the jeep frame is?
  18. I searched this topic and couldn't turn anything up or I wouldn't have asked. So with the wheel bases you are sayin that a YJ and TJ are pretty darn close to a hatch? I plan on body dropping the hatch on the frame and loading up the suspension. I don't know about the tranny tunnel.
  19. Thanks, I am still figuring out all of the abbreviations cuz people are too lazy to type
  20. I know I am revealing my ignorance here... but what is d/r ? I really want to use a Jeep frame cuz of the extensive off road market for them. My goal is pretty much build a monster Jeep with a subaru body and some of my own custom add-ons.
  21. How do ya get the steering to match up? I would assume the only thing Roo you are using is the body and possibly interior... I think I'm gonna go with a Jeep frame, Anyone have any clue which model Jeep is the closest?
  22. I am building mine because I am sooo tired of hearing about everyone's 4wd lifted trucks that are soooo cool... do something different. but yeah, enough bickering, back to the 4.44's..... what's the latest news?
  23. Anyone know if there is a frame out there that an EA81 hatch will fit on comfortably? I've been wanting to do this but I have no clue where to start.
  24. I'd say go with the paint. If you were to take it to bare metal and clear it, the clear wouldn't adhere properly and would soon lift. You must at least have DTM etching primer on bare metal and then sealer for clear to adhere properly. I had that idea and soon found it wouldn't work.
  25. If you scuff the rims really good and prime them, farm implement paint would be the stuff to use if you can find it in the right color. that stuff is about as bulletproof as paint comes if ya get the right stuff
