I must be because some say sport on the side and some don't. The ones that DO say sport have the scoop and the extra luevers on the hood the ones that DONT say sport have only the scoop and have a plain hood. Thats just what I've noticed anyway.

From my understanding you need the crossmember from a gen II brat or make one. Also something about the steering column. Sry not much help, but I hear it's not too bad to do. Most people told me to just tear into it and figure it out. Since my 78 brat got stolen I didn't do it.

What is the difference between a regular outback and a sport besides the hood?The reason I ask is I'm buying my mother in laws 99 for $2k ,only 80k miles!! It's really nice but I see a lot of Sports that don't look as nice, i.e. hubcaps instead of alloys. Any performance options,etc?

What cool personalized plates does anyone have or have seen Subaru related. I'm going to pick up my 85' wagon Tues.(hopefully) and I want to get personalized plates for it. I was thinkin' "SUBARU4X4" if they allow 9 characters. I think it's just 8 though, or 4x4 SOOB, SOOB 4x4.

yeah...3 different people told me who they thought it was and they all came up with the same guy. One told me where he lived but not his name. Another told me his name. When I told this to the police it all matched up. Then they told me his lic. is revoked and the rollback must be registered to someone else. I need to get the tag # and give it to them i guess. It sux that I have to do all the detective work. The main problem is that I have a family and I can't risk this psycho comin after me and my family esp. if I'm not home since he apparently knows when I am and am not home. If I confront him that would have to be it.

It's perfect! 1985 Wagon(don't know dl or gl) 4x4, manual shift, one owner, "sheltered", 230k , she used it to haul her kids around, now they're grown...$800 gonna try to talk her down to $500.It's 1 1/2 hr 1 way trip, prob gonna go this weekend or early next week. Does this sound ideal for a future off roader?

Wow..this thread really took off!!Haven't been on in a couple of days. All the suggestions are great! Most of them I'l prob try one way or the other. For legal reasons I'll not say what I'll ACTUALLY do, but I'll keep ya'll abreast of the situation. He will pay. The cops are useless. I told them everthing, gave them all the leads and have heard nothing. The bad thing is he I live on the county line and he's on the other side. Kinda like Dukes of Hazard! The cops in the other county have him as a suspect on a robery but its the same thing, for some reason they don't have enough proof or whatever to go after him. In fact, my detective told me that they told her "I hope you guys catch him and lock him up for life, we're tired of messin' with him" I'm just really frustrated right now so i gotta cool of b4 he gets his! Yeah, I wish! The honda only had liability, the Nissan didn't run, the Brat I just got running but not road worthy. My best guess is scrap metal. Prices have skyrocketed on steel lately, so has the payout for scrap. Several different people have told me they suspect this whitetrash crackhead with a roll back who lives a few miles from here. I drove by his house and saw the roll back but no cars. He lives with his mom and the truck isn't registered to him. Also his liscense is revoked. I just have no proof cause he moved them fast i guess, or hid them well. The cops have to have a witness saying they saw him in action or the cars at his house. By the way...I live in the country close the road on the top of a hill so i cant really see my neighbors from my house and it's just woods all around and in between.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it is my understanding that an 80' hatch is a genII car w/ an ea71 eng. An 80 brat is opposite -a genI frame w/ an ea81 engine.

I'm gonna attempt to change the head gaskets on my 79' brat. I know I need : head gaskets valve cover gaskets torque wrench besides misc hand tools what else do I need? gonna try to do without removing the engine so I'm also lookin for pointers, etc before I dive in. THANX!
