  1. Mountainbiker, Have you made a decision on what to do? Or found out the brand of axle the shope used? This thread points out again the low levels of service provided today, even from "very well regarded" shops. If the work/parts they sold/installed introduced a new problem, it is the shops responsibility to sort it for you. I believe the tech claiming your lift is the cause is not an honest assesment. It seems unlikely that, on level ground, the axle angle is too extreme with the lift. How much does a stock Forry wheel droop when jacked up? Significantly more than 40mm. The axle should work fine at much more of an angle than you are experiencing while street driving. Good luck with this situation. Post up your resolution. Rob
  2. The wagon is fantastic! Love those stripes. You've got a great looking subaru stable there...have fun!
  3. Looks great! Nice and straight. Good luck with the ej22, that will be a sweet ride. How does the forester d/r differ from the d/r in the ea series cars?
  4. Showing my lack of offroad experience but why is the HH dangerous while wheeling?
  5. Hmmm. There is no question that the turbo will heat the air significantly above ambient temp, but it doesn't simply raise it to a specific amount based on set boost and turbo specs. The lower the incoming ambient air temperature the lower the intake temps will be. Making the job easier for your intercooler by providing as cool an air filter location as possible is time worth spending. It is also usually less expensive...at least than a bigger intercooler, water injection etc... Little gains add up.
  6. Sorry, that's all the info I've got to give:confused: I'm still new to this subaru game. Somebody on the new gen forum must have the FSM for a legacy that shows diode orientation. It's worth a shot. Thanks for schoolin' me on those lift differences and hope you source the cause of your missing spark.
  7. This may be more basic info than you are looking for but if i recall correctly to test a diode: -Isolate it from the circuit if possible. (disconnect at either end) -Grab your Multimeter. Most MM have a diode test selecton on the knob. Make sure your leads are in the correct location if your MM has options. -First test the diode one way and see if any connection. Then reverse your leads and the reading should be the opposite. i.e. "Go" one way, "no go" the other. Hope this helps...
  8. Well, I'm in New York so I can't come help, but I am from the 206 so I'll throw you a bone. You said the car has been sitting. Is the battery still OK? When you turn the key in the ignition does anything occur? i.e. dash lights come on or dim, engine turns over but does not start, solenoid clicks but engine doesn't turn. When they broke in have you checked for other damage, maybe they tried to steal the car? Get back with a report on the battery and answers for above q's. Good luck
  9. Thanks DS! I sent him an email and will PM you the specifics when he gets back to me. Your offer is truly appreciated. Hopefully it's not a rustbucket...
  10. I have been lurking for awhile as I just moved to upstate NY with my girlfriend and she has an '03 OBW. After about five minutes looking at posts I was hooked on "OG" subes. My old roomate had an '84 GL wagon that was a blast too (in Seattle). Anyhow, I found on CL an '88 4wd wagon near Allentown, PA. http://allentown.craigslist.org/car/194431923.html Outside of needing a halfshaft the guy says "it has dual range 4wd, axle does click, has normal amount of rust for that year subaru, sorry dont have and pictures, car has 226,000. but motor has been replaced with one that now has about 125,000 on it. replaced oil pump, water pump, alternator, battery in the last year, car is driveable but axle needs to be replaced now. inspected till april of 07" My interest would be to use it for light offroading and occasional day to day driving if my gf needs her car. However, it is difficult for me to get away to go look at/buy it and was hoping someone more local had the time/interest. Just to see if it's worth the drive... The seller is motivated, just sent me a message saying he would take $300. Thanks in advance
