'89 xt6 leaking oil and water... ideas?
Prospeeder replied to misledxcracker's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
make sure you replace your timing belts too, that oil will be slopped all over the timing belts and they will break in short order, i just fixed my RX whos previous owner just kept adding oil and it was pouring out all over the belts and broke them -
i got that relay, you didnt tell me i had to rewire it or somthing, its defintly not the same, so i didnt do anything with it. But i lubed all the window tracks, they all go up and down fast and on thier own....ecept for my dirver side rear one, it goes down fine but on its way up it needs help,i think the motors probably hosed
-
Erm, i had my intake plenum off, and i notice when the gas inside is floored, the throttle plate doesnt open all the way, only like 3/4 of the way, mabye less. and it i take my hand and pull on the cable or what its connected to i can easily make it open more, and theres a ton of slack in the pedal. So when floored, should the butterfly be open all the way and wich way to i adjust it?

ok thank you, i appreaciate it, so are these relays plug and play or not?

Prospeeder replied to ShakotanBoogie's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
are alignments that much? I had one done on my mazda for $35 for a 4 wheel alignment ($25 for a 2 wheel) -
id be leary of using it, it might be bad for seals in the fuel system, but im not 100% sure, and probably will damage Catalytic converters.

What to do When the Mark is Hit

My friends Mercury Sable had one of those pastic things for flushing, it blew apart and nearly overheated the engine by spilling the coolant everywere -
where is the ground for them? and this relay thats avalible, any specific numbers on that, i dont have an autozone, i have Shucks, napa, and carquest. I greased the hell out of a few spots on one of the slow windows and it sped it up, but going up is still ALOT of trouble for it, but going down its fast now. When its going up, from the bottom its very very slow, it needs help alot of the time then it gets halfway then goes pretty quick on its own. Also i cleaned the contacts with sand paper and lacour to get the carbon off. they looked pretty clean and were really dirty, and i did All four switches including the master
-
Ok so i did what was said and cleaned the contacs at all the switches, but it made zero difference in all the windows performance. The drivers windows fairly quick, untill it gets to the top and it squeaks and then goes slow. The rest of the windows HARDLY work and need help going back up they have such little power going to them or somthing. Somtimes if you use thier direct switch they work abit better. THink my master switch is hosed? Some kind of relay? Or are the motors shot, i thought when those went they just didnt work.

I checked the radiator, no coolant coming out of it. I got a new water pump for 30 bucks. And then a hose under the intake manifold decided to spring a pinhole leak and spray coolant everywhere. LOL gosh you people arnt kidding when you say Subarus always leak somthing -

intake gaskets not leaking. I stareted it and the fan blew a bunch of coolant out and then it stopped, im not even losing coolant from what i can tell. could it be coolant in little areas getting nocked out when i start the motor and dripping down? cause alot of coolant went everywhere when i took the water pump off to do the seal. Im still looking like crazy for leak spots, but im finding nothing -

yea and the exhaust is in the front, right under it, and the coolant is dripping down the block from somewhere onto the exhaust pipe that runs in front of the oil pan -

you know the front exhaust manifold/pipe? It runs right under the timing belts and all that Yes it has that steel input line, i smothed it in that gasket RTV stuff to make sure it sealed, wich from what i can tell it is. What are these holes ur talkin about?? Like freeze plugs? -

uhg seriously, i got the surface as clean as possible, and put the silicone sealer stuff on the places it looked iffy if it would seal right. Did that screw me over? Can the water pump go out without taking the timing belt and stuff out??
