  1. Ok im still not figuring out this smell, its foul as hell, i drive, stop, and get out, do somthing, come back in a few minutes and it just STINKS inside...but not outside or under the hood. Its not oil, its not sweet like coolant, its almost a foul bitter smell, from what i can tell its not coming from the vents, but its hard to tell, you go down the road and its gone in less than a minute. Im really stumped....
  2. yea, my car today was doing a simliar thing, starting and then just stalling, i nocked one of the Cam case breather hoses off, lol. so check all the vacuum hoses and PCV hoses.
  3. mine broke too, its the EGR Selenoid, if your trace the lines it goes to the EGR
  4. Ok my clutch has always been abit sticky, but now its really cold, and the clutch doesnt even come up fast enough to stay with my foot, making it difficult to drive. Then its worse, my Throttle pedal is sticking too! ill go between shifts in the morning and it will rev like hell and keep accelerating and crap, it doesnt like stick totally, it comes back slowly. What can i do? New cables?
  5. yea i almost hit a group of mail boxes last night doing stupid stuff, LOL!
  6. orderd, thanks! So do i have to fully remove the intake manifold to replace these? Any tips so i dont get coolant poured into my intake? Iv done it once on that XT but it was a spider intake, and didnt seem to have so many lines. Ohhh i should probably replace the Hose from Hell too, and sny other coolant hoses in that area, and get a bunch of vacuum lines and stuff. Oh im already excited
  7. Bahh now this things burning coolant, its not bad, its like, you start it cold, its ok, u drive it, fine, u park it, for like 10 minutes, start it, and it blows out large clouds of thick, white, sweet smoke and it goes right away, and theres little to no condensation in the exhaust driving down the road, somtimes when you stop or somthing you can smell it. The car runs cool, and runs fine, and the Rebuilt engine has like 26-30k on it, so i was thinkning more along the lines of the intake gaskets, they look like theres some grimy wetness around them, and the fact i read the aftermarket ones SUCK really bad, (wich im betting when they rebuilt it they used cheap aftermarket ones to save money) does this sound right? It CANT be a headgasket, why the hell would a company design a car that lasts not even 30k on head gaskets. NO bubles in the coolant, nothing like that. I was thinkin on a last leg that the head has a small crack in it, but that would make it do it ALL the time or somthing, and id see it pour out where the exhaust meets the head, and theres none.
  8. i would guess blocks or large peices of wood to distribute the weight, as far as laying on the gravel, blankets or tarps work well. I have to work on asphalt driveway, wich isnt bad, but im running out of spots where there arnt any oil slicks, LOL
  9. ha yea now thats its running well finally its going well, but i can smell coolant when i first start it up and it goes away....and this isnt from under the hood, im scard the heads might have a small crack leaking a little coolant into the exhaust. Not a hint of overheating no bubbles in the radiator. I dunno if its losing coolant tho i havent checked, its SOOOO cold right now, like -10 wind chill 30 mph winds. This spring/summer/fall when i drive my Pontiac im gonna do a headgasket job on this thing
  10. Now that my cars running well, and not leaking, it snowed ALOT today, WHOOOOOOO some parkin lot fun, kick that sucker in 4 LO and spin and slide and drift, and easily just regain control like nothing, and no problem taking off at all in the snow, along with turning and what not, sticks to the road like glue! Everyone else in snow country having fun? People everywhere were spinnin around the parking lot, my friend did some sweet spins in her 92 Daytona ES V6, and some mini vans and another sub Wagon were driftin through the lot, and alot of SUVs in RWD, ahha, the first snow is always the best
  11. yea if #1 works but 2 doesnt, its not the resitor, cause i belive they go in sequence, when i took mine out, #2 was wasted, but the #1 was fine, but speeds 1 and 2 didnt work, i got another one from an old, half torn apart, moldy, moss filled water soaked GL wagon and it works great, lol.
  12. mines got 259k on it, lol but i guess it doesnt count, its a rebuilt engine with only 26k on it, lol, my Transmission is original if that counts, lol
  13. Mine didnt work because the wires in the trunk, coming from the tank got brittle, and broke, and corrded, so i bypassed the connector and spliced them together and it works!
  14. oooh can u set the delay? I would think my RX Sedan would have that, the intermitant seems to be on setting.
  15. ah no possible way a wrench can get in there i take it? i have a deep 17mm socket, im not into going to shucks and buying an 8-10$ socket, lol, for one time use
  16. hmm that may be an idea then, think i can get to it all in the car, or will i have to remove the sensor?
  17. my trans feels notchy when i shift, the fluids full on the dipstick and looks clean. Should i put some kind of special fluid in it to help that out or what??
  18. hmm the idle picks up if i push REALLY hard on the plug of the CTS, i cant seem to get the plug on there well enough. Also when this is happening, the car is gutless and jerks through its power band, and then it just gets over it, idles great, no back fire, pulls pretty hard. Yes this is my 86 EA82 w/ Flapper style MAF and vacuum advance. Plugs are brand new NGK's i put in, the wires...i dunno.
  19. yea i do let it cool off, it doesnt have an effect on it tho
  20. Hmm no i havent checked for codes, no check engine light at all. I dunno if its running rich, because its intermittent, it will only do it when started warm, or warmish, if its cold or is drivin around a little it shows absouluty no sign of this issue and ides smooth and perfect and revs with no backfire.
  21. Mmmkay well this has me stumped. I replaced the Coolent temp sensor plug, and cleaned the terminals, thinking it would fix this problem, but it didnt,it just made my idle quality better and ALOT more low end power. Problem When started, idles fine, no backfire, drive it, turn it off, do what ever, restart it, the idles REALLY low somtimes it nearly dies, and when u rev it its slow and when u hit prolly 900 it backfires through the intake and the turbo light flashes. You drive down the road abit and the problem disapears and only comes back when u turn in off and restart it. Whats up??
  22. also wondering, is the plastic color RX specific also? thats almost black color? I REALLY need a new console that has the Dual range instructions thing, around the shifter, mine is all over the place, the clips are busted on it, and im getting REALLY pissed at it.
  23. i guess it was, i put the other pump they gave me on and no more leak, i pray it doesnt come back!
  24. u can clean them too, they usually get gummed up, do NOT pay that much for a stupid PVC, there likes 2.99 at walmart or parts stores, there an extremly simple device, aftermarket one would be fine
  25. ok DEFINATLY not the oring. It was again the water pump gasket. In the exact same spot, Soooo i took that little *************** back to Napa, and got another, and it seems the one i had originally had the bearing in it pulled out, and the impeller was inset quite a bit. What would cause that???? just crappy remanufacture? Soooo i RTV'd that mother on thier GOOD so hopefully i wont have to do this again. BTW this will be time #4 its leaked....
