  1. Nice, look forward to see'n it finished. Got Rear disks on? Keep plugin, S.
  2. Does anyone have alignment specs for Subies? One of my manuals shows nearly all set toed out, can that be so? Thanks S.
  3. Boy, it can be a mess. I recently went thru' this trying to put togather shafts for my GL/XT6 conversion. I had shafts & cups all over the shop floor, GL- XT+Leg. So many different shaft diameters, cup sizes, etc. I needed 23 inner & 27 outer, & with all the crap I had laying there I was able to build 1 shaft. In the end I went to Legacy struts & hubs with 93-4 Imp. 2wd 5 Spd. shafts. Working perfectly. Thanks, S.
  4. Two cool, I've been savin' parts. I'm runnin' a 86 D/R in my 88 GL Turbo wagon, & I have the original full time with ctr. diff lock. A friend is gettn' me a complete 411 Imp. tranny next week. What else will I need, besides a matching gear set for the rear? Thanks for the imput guys. S.
  5. I don't know, I.ve tried em both ways. My 88 GL Turbo, 3" lift, 5 bolt XT & Leg. mods, is mostly on hgwy. To much sway to suit me, I put on the XT bar in fr. & plan to try the XT rear. I'm workin' on quick release Fr. bar links, like the big boy 4X4s use, just smaller scale. Thanks for the chatter guys. S.
  6. I dont know, let me go ask my dad. The boys at Santa Fe CarQuest let me go thru the boxes of reman shafts, they had two for the 93-4 1.8 fwd Imps, & they both had 25 splines. Maybe the 2wd, I didn't look at that one. I did roll out the susp. in the shop to be sure it wasn't loaded up, but still way to much pos. camber. Gonna take some mods. I'm afraid. Thanks for the imput. S.
  7. Hey guys, still haven't found half shafts for my GL-XT conv. It appears the 93 Imp. shafts would work if I was runnin' a Turbo tranny with 25 spline. But my early Dual range has 23s, Is there a large cup cvj with 23 splines? And, to add to my frustration, with the car down on the shop floor it has has huge pos. camber in front. Still plugin', open to all suggestions. Thanks S.
  8. Hey Mugs, what's the story with your shipping connections. A box of brake parts is gonna be heavy. Ck back soon. Thanks, S.

  9. I'm finishing up with the 5 lug conversion on 88 GL wagon, hit a snag. I've got a D/L tranny with the small axle stubs, & XT axles. In an old thread, ballitch said ya have to put the tranny end on the XT axle. Two different sizes, so is there a shaft out there with XT on one end & small splined CVJ on the other? Hopin. Thanks guys, S.
  10. Help, I'm in the finishing stages on five lug XT conversion on my 88 GL wagon. I'm running a Dual Range with the small tranny stubs. In an old thread, ballitch said ya need to switch the tranny end onto the XT axle. Wrong size, XT & Turbo the same I'm guessin'. Is there something in between? There's enough of these conversion's out there, there must be an answer. Countin' on the Subie Brotherhood. Thanks Guys, S.
  11. Why not go to one of the air ride suspension outfits? Theve got some pretty afordable compressor systems, with suprisingly high CFM, and no need for an inverter. S.
  12. Nice car. Can't imagine how many hours you must have in it. I'm runnin' a 88 GL turbo, with some mods, but wow, can't compete with this. I've gone more off road with mine. I see that your lifted GL has a Dual Range with a locking diff. Is it possible to add this to my D/R. I have two lock/diff. trannys, 1 Turbo, 1 Reg. I've got my old 3.7 LSD all cleaned up ready to convert over to 3.9. A locking ctr. diff. would make the thing unstopable. Again, great car. S.W.
  13. Hi. Guys, I agree . Passanger side, @ rear of head. I'd like to hear how this turbo works. Question, if I'm lookin' at this picture right, don't you need to clock the bearing section so the oil return is at the bottom and won't overwhelm the shaft seals. I may be missing something. S.W.
