  7. looks like its more complicated now. WTF SUBARU ! better be big advantage over this design. like the EJ over the EA.
  8. yeah i hate that really bad. i sold the EJ25 for $400 to a used car dealer. paid the fees i owed to parents $210 total. and i found a Catback Exhaust for an Impreza RS. i paid $125 for it and it looks like it will fit my outback. Tsudo Catback. any know if it'll fit ? please note it was on a 2005 Impreza RS thanks in advance -John
  9. OMG ! I'm so stupid ! i wasn't changing the temp sensor. i was changing the one under the alternator thinking it was the temp. i knew very well it wasn't. i have done the temp change before. just has been to long it slipped my mind i guess i checked the 2 plugs and wouldn't you know it! i didn't have them connected i feel so stupid for all that. and for just for 2 plugs. everything works now. temp works and no more Check Engine Light
  10. i doubles checked all my connections. they are all in and secure. a new temp sensor runs $14.99 i may go buy one if its not the problem something is seriously wrong. i just cant get my temp to work (my temper is working tho....LOL). EDIT: New Temp Sensor...Still Doesn't Work ! UGH!
  11. last night i changed the Temp Sensor from the 2.5L which i know it's worked. and still the temp sensor does not work. the gauges its self has always worked. i also have a 98 legacy ECU. I'm thinking the sensor isn't working because the 2.5L ECU doesn't understand the signal ? I'm gonna double check the Connection of the harness. maybe i don't have on in all the way.
  12. ok. I'll pull the temp sensor from the 2.5L. i do have an extra IACV in the garage so I'll grab that to.
  13. yeah the temp sensor doesn't work. i tried it plugged in and unplugged. same result. IACV ? hmm possibly i don't know this EJ22. so very well possible. could the oxygen sensor have anything to do with it ? -John
  14. ok last problem to work out. i hope: when cold the engine doesn't run properly I'll let the video Explain: http://youtu.be/Y_JqOxYtRyI
  15. Update: Engine is running Great now. i put high temp copper sealer on the leaking copper tube on the back. Cylinder #1's plug was covered in oil cleaned it up and the engine seemed to clear on its own. still have Check Engine Light. also the Speed-o is working and still working after the engine change used the 2.2L's Speed Censor the Temp Gauge Doesn't Work. so i cant tell if it gets hot. i did however let it run for 45min to an hour Constant and threw Superior Heat. Sofar So Good. just gotta few things to figure out such as the Check Engine Light. -John
  16. finally site is back up !. while we were down i swapped an EJ22 in my Outback. its running on 2 cylinders ( 2 front ones not firing but are sparking ) and have vacuum hoses i have no idea were they go. also the tube in the back of the engine whats it for ? and i have leak there to because i messed up the threads. Please Help !
  17. doesnt matter. i'm taking the damn thing off the road. leaks oil bad !
  18. ok. took covers off and looked for leaks. found oil seeping out of the front under the main pulley. put black silicone on and around it. also changed the Front Crank Seal. old one was hard like plastic. so far no leaks. and holding my breathe.
  19. Got a Reply from Jordan (previous owner who did the work). he said everything is Genuine Except for the Thermostat. explains why it went out i suppose.
  20. still no answer. anyway. the outback has been running great. no burning oil, no over heating or loss of oil. WTF ? does my outback have Emotions or something.
  21. Looking Good Tom.
  22. he worked at the Subaru Dealership. I'm still waiting to find out if both thermostat and hg's are genuine.
  23. this 2.5L is really Pi$$ing me off. when he did the gaskets he told me did the right way, worked for the subaru garage & had a buddy from the garage help with it. so I'm sure he used genuine gaskets. i can order online. and i will next pay to get the thermostat. I'll ask previous owner if they are genuine gaskets. the car did pick a good place to break down, just not a good distance. i swear these Subaru's have a mind of there own.
  24. why subaru ? why not just any form local parts store ?. genuine i have no idea were to get one. i sure as hell aint going to cravellie the Subaru garage. they have attitudes down there. as for the head-gaskets i have no idea. i didn't do them
