    1993 loyale buggy?

    Here's a few pics of are buggie's
  2. First roll over, Morris dropped over a bank and the rump roast end came up and over. Broke the radiator mount and ruined the top, but had it up and runnin in about ten minutes. Bumper damage was previous tree mishap, It didn't move.
  3. I don't understand prerunner stuff, no experience with it, but I've built and drove dirt track cars and the simple well designed cars finish, and I think thats more important in the baja than anything. I think rear engine 2 wheel drive would be best because it would land better (easier on an inexperienced driver), and less drivetrain to break. Sounds fun you west coast guys have all the fun...............
  4. Tube frame, full .095 cage with factory ea81 rear, mount a EJ22 and 2wheel drive five speed rear mount in the hatch. Sure the shifter would take some engineering but possible. Fab in that long arm buggie front control arms and steering. Last but not least skin a ea82 body and hang it on the cage. Gets your weight around 1800 pounds and best of all it's all subaru, well almost. Just my 2 cents...
  5. Looks great, I think I found a justy.
  6. I'm just jelous my motor looks like crap LOL
  7. That shiny won't last past the first poker run... HA HA
  8. Looking good. I looked up a front and rear and a D/R, the shifter pretty good shape. Maybe you can adapt the legacy shifter to the D/R. Don't know haven't looked at the legacy shifter yet.

    Buggyroo Pics

Buggie looks great!!. Your gonna have a ball wheelin in an open buggie. We've had trouble with bending radius arms too, so we got the adjustable arms for a tractor with hime jounts from tractor supply (cheap). Works great and looks great. Remember to overkill alittle on the gussuts it's better to be safe than sorry, expecially when your the engineer. Have fun...
  10. Alot more moving parts and geometry in front coils. Weld in a cross member and make some spring hangers done.
  11. 26/12 wings on the red one and 26/ 12 mud lites on the black one. No rocks here to crawl, only mud and hill climbes and we hit them wde open.
  12. Were working on the next buggy now. Mostly planning stage I'm gonna have to pick your brain alittle on the ranger transfer and tranny. Were gonna try to use the floor pan, firewall and dash out of a legacy. Ej power plant but I'm worried about getting a disty wet in mud and such. Then tube the rest of it and hang a full body on it like we do a race car.
  13. I'd ride that!!!! Built a racing mower once, scary couldn't keep it shiny side up. I could gear that enough to make it fun.
  14. cool tires.... We've popped the tires off the red and the black buggies, but only in deep mud holes. Seems to happen when the tire hits the side of a deep hole, never lost one other than that and we wheel these two buggies hard. We put ag tires on the orange buggie, does great up and over but not so good around the side of a hill thats why the other two got 4 wheeler tires. good luck hope you get to wheel soon....
  15. Sorry for the slow response, computers been down again. It was a speed pit, about 6-12 inches of mud 50 feet long. They line you up at the pit entrance, give you the green light and the time starts when you move and trip the lazer at exit. Lots of fun but gets expensive at 20$ a pass.
  16. Last night was the county fair mudbog, the black one went first and opted to use first gear low range on 26in mud lites and went 9 seconds, the red one went second gear low range and went 6.1. Beat half the street class on 4 wheeler tires, gotta love subbies.
  17. I've put a 235/75/15 on a spare rim, fit ok, bolted up ok, but when I let the car down off jack rubbed to bad to drive..... JB
  18. I ran big wagoneers for years, spring flip 36in tires and I could go anywhere. I love out of the box 4x4's.... JB
  19. I've kept up with your build post, I just assumed you mated the ranger trans/transfer to the subie motor, cool. I'm just not having any luck finding a nissan transfer. My friends father in-laws got 2 of them and wont come off either, still looking, and looking, and looking aaaaaaaaaannnnnnnddddd
  20. Thanks truckerman thats good to know information, maybe someday I'll put it to use, maybe not........
  21. I was talking to an old timer tonight and he told me when he needed gear in his datsun in the (70's probably), he said he coupled another 4 speed tranny behind his 2wd tranny. My question is could you couple, say a toyota 4speed and transfer case in behind a D/R? As you can tell i'm having trouble finding a divorced T-case. JB
  22. if its like te 2:1 boxes we used in our race cars, it'll come with a splined shaft on both sides which youll need the couplers for. then you"ll have to fab a mount for the box plus find a place to tie it into the steering shaft. I know it took awhile to get used to it, easier to catsh the car harder to get into the corner. Jon
  23. I guess i just dont understand, Ill just stick to reading posts
  24. Thanks everyone, I took the oil pump off another motor and a small tube sleeve fell out, I looked at the back of it and theres 2 holes in it does anyone no which one it goes in and which way, hole in or out? Well the reason I wanted to go with the legacy struts is the adjustable camber, the legacy has an inner steel structure in the rear that (i think) I can cut out and weld in my DL. RT 250 auto has used outback struts for $40.00 a piece. Oh yea one more question will the rear spendle off of a 95 legacy wagon swap onto my DL? LOoking into a full 2x2 box tubing frame like we do on our buggies i dont know how to attach pictures but there in jbain8 photo gallery. Thanks again JON B.
  25. very few here, thats why i was so pumped to find one with a good enough body to daily drive. We have a 84 hatch D/R, 95 legacy wagon2.2, (2)80s sedans and a80s wagon in the field and non of them is good enough to drive. and we've stripped and junked 7 ea82s and a brat and only one roadworthy, but they do make great buggies.
