  1. Well it looks like tomorrow is the determaning if I have to do the dreaded thing and sale one of my Loyales. So this is how things look like they will work out to be: Sale 1 of the Loyales Get an '88 Corrola from family When space and finances permit get donor for ea-->ej swap then use the Loyale as driver Sell what's left of donor car Look for either another soob or get a Toyota with a 4ag This will be in due time obviously because I won't be able to play with 3 cars for at least another year or so which will give me time to plan out everything and get the budget for everything.
  2. I also want the power to be there I want to scoot down the road at a good pace(within legal limits of course) If I was going for sound I have a friend that has a muffler that changes the sound from soob to something more of a mazda. And much more like a ricer type sound than anything else. I want sound to let you know there is power there other than just sound. How hard are xt6 to find currentley looking for them.
  3. Where are you now would help to narrow down where donor cars can come from and the amout you can spend on it. If you scroll down to post number 7 by 86Bratman he list several in the salt lake area.http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=77128 If you happen to know where Murray is that's where I am at.
  4. So many new possiblities to look at now:grin: Now I just have to sit down and write what I want to accomploish and the budget part of it.
  5. The car with the EJ swap is suppose to look stock execpt for the pug wheels on it an dthe sound that would come from it. More so trying to get people that know the car as I go past and they think wonder what's in it. Not for omg that is recdlious or what a ricer. And more than anything it will be for me and no one else.
  6. How many people here are in the SLC area in or around the valley.
  7. Anytime I have heard of an rx always been with a turbo or a turbo related question.
  8. As of now on thursday I plan on going to get the '93 loyale and start comparing the 2 the '93 should be in much better shape than mine if you have seen the pics in the old school area. When I decide on which of the 2 to sell get that in the market and get what I can for it and then go after a donor car with the money made from the sell of the Loyale. With the earley 90's legacys are they the EJ22E motors?
  9. Would this be a good example of a donor car http://www.ksl.com/index.php?sid=&nid=443&tab=list/view&ad=90864
  10. Generally they sell for right around 1000 for good condtion and less for problems. In utah there is a tv station that is owned by a newpaper and has a really good selection of classfieds but will also try CL. Just went to the classfieds and found 4 other Loyales for sale in the near area for 900-1200. But will probally do a high price of 750-800 and do obo and say have a lower price at which I would sell it for and see what I can get for it hopefully 500 or so. IE newest version has tabbed browsing so I can have quite a few diffrent sites up at one time. And what is the rx and xt? This is what I found for gl'shttp://www.ksl.com/index.php?sid=&nid=443&tab=list
  11. Probally a dumb question what models would have an EA82T in it?
  12. I have no problem with that you putting into a very clear point of view. Puts a sense or reality into the picture. If I decide to sell off the rusty one what would a reasonable price be? Second what would an EA82T wagon run? Also what years were they done in? Only reason why I asked about the gauges is I knew some other cars could just be replacments with little or no modding needed. As for bursting my bubble you just happen to reshape it into a more reasonable size.
  13. What about changing from a SPFI to a MPFI and remaping. When I was talking about the gages I was refering to the car that is gonna have the ea in it and not the ej, that one will be a project in it's on.
  14. What is a reasonable cost for a motor uncut eco and tranny for sti motors. I know about this company and have had several people use them for motors.http://www.jdmsource.ca/v2/inventory.asp?CatID=6
  15. What about doing one just for the temp just to get a more reliable one in it's place. I also have been thinking after or in the mean time of doing the swap in 1 of the Loyales with an EJ motor, turboing the other. I know I would have to redo the internals to have it reliable for even a small amount of psi. I was just thinking of doing one that is the same size or a little larger as the one that can with some origanally. This would give me a small umph in power without doing a full swap if I'm correct. Not looking for a huge increase in power on it. Also I have been trying to find out when do you lose the new user rating?
  16. Which would be a better performance the EJ22E or the EJ22T. From what I think the 22e would be an N/A and the 22t would be a turbo charged. What I'm trying to do is have people look at the car and say WTF is in that. What about this http://www.jdmsource.ca/v2/product.asp?ID=54 I have known several people that have used them and liked useing them. But on that would't that be an OBD2? I would like to do the EJ257 with GT40R but I doubt I would be able to afford it anytime soon. But I think I can realistacally get the motor in the link above within a year or so.
  17. Okay as the title says I want to put some kind of EJ motor into either a '92 or '93 Loyale. I'm more familer to Honda and Toyota engines than to subaru but I understand basic ideas on them and some such stuff. What I'm wondering is what would be the easyest to do so? Which motor would make the best sleeper? Which would be easier to do OBD1 or OBD2? And then also which would be a better route a full standalone an add on or just use the stock ecu?
  18. Only time I have seen them come off without breaking them is with the door open. And when I have seen them come off was when it was a trashed car that we were destroying.
  19. I just read the topic by Tosh and there is quite a bit of info on there that I'm gonna have to re-read to get it all. So as of now these are my plans for my 2 Loyales: for the '92: EJ20something swap gonna do research to see which I want, Looking perfibally for a N/A in it though. Do all necessary upgrades to use it reliably. Do wheel swap from a pug to handle better tires. For the '93: Possibly add a factory sized turbo to it. Pug swap. Change from a SPFI to a MPFI and others as I see fit and want to do. One thing as I was sitting in us history today is could I change the gauges for the speedo, rpm's, battery, temp, oil pressure, and other gauges to other more accurate ones? As in after market such ones.
  20. In all reality what excatally involved with doing a ej22t swap. With one of my loyales was gonna make a crazy little sleeper and use the other as a daily driver.
  21. If anyone has questions about either of my loyales or I come up with more I will put more on here.
  22. I would trust a factory turbo over a bolt on anyday, but there is extra wear and tear on the internals. I would try and find out the history on the car, I will give an example of my exp. Was looking at a car looked brand new engine was in pristine condition and had all the extras on it for a real good deal. But I decided to check the history on it and found out that it had been in a t-bone with a line truck and the whole front half had been rebuilt by him and not a good shop.
  23. It does climb above the half way point if I run the a/c or if I'm running it hard. But generally under normal driving without a/c it is just above the 1/2 way mark.
  24. I just checked my rad with the light test was fine will do the touch test tomorrow. Broke a clip on the front cover so now I have no cover on my front so I got a viod there but I like it:clap:. How hard will it be to fix the rear hatch handle, I was opening it and when I got it about an inch open it broke and now my hatch it stuck closed. List of things on the car: SPFI push button 4wd 5 speed manual awesome stock radio (not even caset in it) huge 13' inch wheels on oem rims
