Ran across an article today
faithless88 replied to Hotshot's topic in Non Soob Cars and Bikes Discussion
Same I have an '88 corrola sr5 and I would jump at that without hesitation even though I love soobs. -
I will get a pic with the spot in a box to show the area on which I'm refering to. Kinda hard to describe to someone on something that you can't see.
-
If you look directley over the spfi cover look to the right were you can see the block and were it joins into a second piece of metal is where the leak that I have found so far.
-
If you look from on top and not the front it's almost directley behind the alt, planning on getting a much better shot of it tomorrow. If you can see the wires right above the alt they run right across the leaking area.

Just found the where it might be leaking on the right side of the block (I will try and get some pictures tomorrow) it sat for the last 2 days in 100+ heat. All the oil that was there was dry had to move it today and it ran for about 2mins max. went and checked it and only 1 spot had fresh oil spots. Was already planning on getting degreaser to do some work on it. Also found out when they replaced it they did a partial synethic into it and also a 10w 30. So I got some normall oil gonna possibly drop the pan take out what is left and refill with the new oil check any spot where oil could come from.

Intermittent.........rattle?
faithless88 replied to NocturneVoyager's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I have a simmilaer sound in third but mine does come from the engine bay and only in third gear and the heat shield has already been removed. -
Have you ever heard that if you leave a soob parked at a store or whatever when you come out there will be more of them? Went to a college to find out about classes and mine was the only one there when I came out there were 3 soobs next to mine. So I think it got a little lonely while I was away.

Ya the time code says nothing major after 10pm but this is like 8pm, most of the time when the police show up they just say to ignore them and not worry about anything. Ya it's the purge control sylinoid not the pcv. And it's leaking not burning it unless it hits the catalic. I went out last night in a diffrent car to check on something the road I used to come home on from work had a streak from where I had been. As for the air filter the only dirty spot on it is right where the air moves to the intake and it's barley a diffrent color from the rest, it was changed about 3months ago and is white.

I already have done that for fun at the soob dealer acroos the street from my school wander over ask questions which I already know the anwser to and see if they know it. Also have family that is into cars also so I don't have a lack of knowledge or people from dealers. Dad was a mech at a toyota dealer for about 10 years.

I have checked at a soob dealer that was by my school and they looked at me like I was insane. And for the part stores most barley cover soobs besides the legacys and imps. And I already know where the pcv is.
-
It does a code 35 and thats what I found on a code post on this site listing for the ea82 Loyale wagon. How would I change the pcv I have no idea how:confused: All I know it's a little black box in the middle of a bunch of tubes.

If I'm outside after 9pm neibors call police on me(so far at least a dozen times) I do get pressure to register when it first starts it's like at 70 then after it warms up it drops to about 30 or so. Only lights I have is CEL for the pcv and the button for the door saying it's closed on passenger side. When I got this car about a year ago the mech which I have known my whole life and family has know for 25+ years said the car was fine execpt for the rust on it.

The only way I will be able to clean the bottom side is if it's on it's side or upside down. The entire bottom is covered in oil. I know the oil leak is somewhere on the right side and is dripping onto the cover and running to the left and falling to the ground. I have a piece of cardboard under my car to soak up all the oil that it has left on the driveway, parents will only let me park in 1 spot now from the leak. I do have a cel from the pcv. But the passenger side boots both inner and outer are torn, rear hatch handle broke, now a major oil leak. Was already planning on looking at getting a Imp but I might move that up to take it's place and make the Loyale a project for the time being.

Getting off the free way today for work there was a small white cloud that lasted for about 15 secs first time since I have owned it.

Mine does the exact same thing. At low speeds mine sound like its on squares for wheels and at higher speeds it shudders almost non stop on me.

How many peoples car's here will eat an entire oil change in a week. Just did an oil change on the 23rd of this month and now it's the 30th and it has eaten all of it. Dropped the pan and there was barley anything left in it. I knew I had a leak but not like that:eek:
